This is the SLOWEST DAY EVER.

I'm very pleased with my haircut. It falls right at my shoulders. My hairstylist, Kelly, and I had a fun time. We bonded over the mechanically-inclined men in our lives and she gave me a list of pros and cons of being married to a mechanic. :) This time she noticed how horribly bleachy my highlights get as they fade, so she applied some sort of extra dye to keep that from happening. So I have my reddish hair back, and hopefully it'll last longer this time. Yay!

I like the song "The Reason," and I know a lot of you like it too. But every radio station in town is playing it- you can literally hear it every five minutes if you flip enough- and I'm about to go crazy. It got me wondering how they do Billboard charts now. They used to do it by sales of the single, but hardly anyone sells those anymore. It's probably by amount of airplay, but even radio stations don't play songs based on how much they like them. It's all planned out by corporations. Makes me feel like a lab rat in a maze. Hopefully you music-industry types can shed some light on this.

Just now at lunchtime, I ran home for a minute. The apartment is not in great shape. I have so much cleaning to do in my two free hours after work! :( Kathy left this morning for a grad school conference in DC. She'll be back on Monday, so there is a miniscule chance that she'll get to meet everyone, but I'm not counting on it. She'll probably need to be right back at the lab Monday morning. How does she do it? Honestly, I can't understand why anyone would choose the torture and workaholism of grad assistant life. Maybe because I have no real career ambitions. :P

I tried to do a lyrics poll, but I couldn't think of any more songs that people might actually know.

Okay, their plane will be taking off from California pretty soon. Only...seven hours until they get here! :D
