GO RED SOX! I like Boston and I like underdogs. This will be an entertaining World Series. Even Evan was transfixed by the game last night, and he doesn't like baseball much. We were talking about the post-game riots earlier:

Me: Why do they want to destroy their own city? Something good happened! I don't get it.
Evan: ...They should have goalposts on the baseball field, so at the end of the game the fans could tear down the goalposts to work out their aggression.
Me: Or they could build up the pitcher's mound a lot. So the fans could tear it down and throw sand and stuff.
Evan: Yes... sand will assuage the mob. "Hey, I have sand! I can go home now!"

I'm in my new cubicle! I like it. It's quieter down here.

What is the geekiest part of your music collection? I have the soundtracks to Dangerous Minds and D2: The Mighty Ducks.
What do you eat when you raid the fridge late at night? I don't often, but when I do, I usually eat a single-serve applesauce - you know, the kind that comes in blended fruit flavors. I like mixed berry.
What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie? Deep Impact. "Be good, Orrin...be good."
If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done? Probably nothing. Plastic surgery scares me. ANY surgery scares me.
Do you have a completely irrational fear? Roaches.
What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moment? I look insecure. All my emotions show on my face. Very annoying.
Are you a pyromaniac? No.
Do you have too many love interests? Just the one. *cartoon hearts*
Do you know anyone famous? No, but my friend Myla's going to be famous someday, and I can go on tour with her and meet other famous people. :)
Describe your bed: Full sized, wood frame built by Evan three years ago. It has a heating pad, a multicolored quilt, and too many pillows. On Sunday I am giving it up for my new queen sized, soon-to-be married-person bed. I actually feel sad about losing my old bed. Is that weird?
Spontaneous or planned? Planned.
Who should play you in a movie about your life? I guess Sara Gilbert if we're going for similar looks.
Do you know how to play poker? Sort of. I can play Uno as if it were poker...I think that counts for more. :)
What do you carry with you at all times? My wallet, phone, keys, a hair tie, and Carmex.
What do you miss most about being a kid? Having afternoons free and not having to worry about fat and calories.
Are you happy with your given name? It's okay.
How much money would it take to get you to give up the Internet for one year? A million dollars.
What colour is your bedroom? Tan-ish. I think it's called "tumbleweed."
What was the last song you were listening to? Kelly Clarkson - Break Away
Have you ever been in a play? I was Santa Claus's secretary in my fifth-grade Christmas play.
Have you ever been in love? Well, duh. :)
Do you talk a lot? I do lately.
Do you like yourself and believe in yourself? I like myself, but I believe in God in me. Not me by myself.
Do transient, homeless, or starving people sometimes annoy you? When it's their own fault.
Do you spend more time with your partner or your friends? My fiance.
What is your ideal wedding location? In a garden under an arch of flowers. (Oh well.) :)
Which musical instrument do you wish you could play? Violin.
Favourite fabric? Cotton.
Something you love and hate? Beach sand.
What kind of bedding do you use? I have to have around 220 thread count sheets now, or better. I can't stand those little lint balls that form on regular sheets.
Do you tell your friends about your sex life? Currently I have nothing to tell.
What's the one language you want to learn? French, and Greek.
How do you eat an apple? I prefer to slice it. When I try to bite into larger fruits, I get a cramp in my chin. Further joys of a tiny mouth.
What do you order at a bar? Diet Coke. :) I'm not against alcohol in moderation, but it's expensive and fattening.
Have you ever pierced your body parts? Just my ears.
Do you have tattoos? No, I can't think of anything I'd still want on my body in forty years.
"Mystery Question!" What is the meaning of life? To glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
Can you drive a manual car? Yes...as long as I stay in the parking lot.
What's one trait you hate in a person? Malice.
What kind of watch do you have? I have three: a Seiko that my dad gave me, a purple Fossil that my grandfather gave me, and a blue Fossil that my work gave me.
Most frivolous purchase? I bought an A. Byer skirt last spring that doesn't match anything I own. I haven't worn it once.
Do you consider yourself materialistic? Yes, unfortunately.
What do you cook the best? Gingerbread.
Favourite writing instrument? I use Bic Round Stic Grips at work. They work pretty consistently.
Do you prefer to stand out or blend in? Blend in.
Would you ever go out dressed like the opposite sex? I think this doesn't apply as much to girls. If you're asking if I would go out wearing a fake beard or something, the answer is no.
What's the one car you will never buy? A PT Cruiser. What were they thinking?
What kind of movies do you watch? Fantasy, sci-fi, romantic comedy (mainly).
If you won the lottery, what would you do? Tithe to church and give some extra to Grace Venture; buy a house (or maybe build it ourselves!); take my sister to see Celine Dion in Vegas (she loves Celine); help my friends with debts or troubling bills; buy a LOT of clothes and books. Oh, and also get a job that I loved.
Burial or cremation? I'm not sure.
How many online journals do you read regularly? Too many.
What's one thing you're a sore loser at? Wheel of Fortune.
If you don't like a person, how do you show it? I try to avoid them (this answer seems pretty universal).
Do you cry in front of your friends? Occasionally.
What kind of first impression do you think you give to people? It depends on how talkative I am that day. The more I talk, the more inclined they'll be to think I'm a total weirdo. :P
What's one thing you like to do alone? Work.
Are you a giver or a taker? Both, I guess.
When's the last time you cried? A couple of weeks ago.
Favourite communication method? Face-to-face or e-mail.
How many drinks before you're tipsy? Never wanted to find out. Probably three.
Do you think you're cute? Sometimes.
Do you have problems changing clothes in front of friends? Not really. Four years of marching band, changing clothes on buses, in school gyms, and behind bleachers, is a killer of modesty.

That conversation sounds exactly like something that would transpire between me and Chris! *shakes head sadly* I'm so sorry! : P

Awww, Evan built you a bedframe? How cool is that! Not to worry, you won't miss your old bed long. *whistles innocently*

"Even Evan" looks weird in a sentence... lol

I found a tree roach today in my house- the first one in 2 months b/c of the darn rain.

Neat survey, and I have Dangerous Minds on CD too. It was good music at the time!

Tree roaches are the big brown ones (usually an inch or two long).
German roaches are the "dirty" roaches you get around your garbage that are much smaller and red. They're not as scary as the big ones.

Probably what you've got is tree roaches- they're big on old sewer pipes and old trees, which you've got in your apartment complex.
My Cook's pest control lady told me a trick: pour a cup of straight clorox down every drain in your house, then run hot water for a minute. (Once a week) The roaches like to eat the gunk in your pipes and will come up through them from the sewer! (ewww!) This is supposed to reduce the # of bugs you get.

Ugh!!! *shudders*

Okay, I get it now. The German roaches don't bother me so much. I never knew the regular ones had a name...I thought they were just "roaches." :) In Miami we had Palmetto bugs, which are, like, four inches long, and they fly. One of the things I don't miss!

Bleah! We get some reeeally big tree roaches in Memphis (people call them palmetto bugs, water bugs, etc.) but they're just roaches.

Palmettos are too big for me to kill- they are big enough to talk to you and introduce you to their families...
Spiders I can take care of (like Kathy, John is scared of spiders but will kill the roaches for me).
