St. Patrick and red hair
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm about 1/8 Irish and can wear the green proudly. Also, happy birthday to my Bun. He is 8 today, so he's now well into the golden years of bunnyhood. I can't go see him tonight since I have practice, but I always feel bad when I can't visit him on his birthday. Like he knows what day it is. :) We make a big deal of him on Easter, anyway.
Hair Woes: I'm really caught in the endless cycle of haircolor that I never wanted to enter. I'm still getting the red highlights and I love them. The problem is that they fade away pretty quickly and turn blonde, leaving me with brassy, uneven hair until I go back. My salon visits cost $70 apiece (cut and color) so I try to limit them to every two and a half to three months. (I hate waiting that long between trims, but it's easier than going two separate times.) This is an expensive habit, but I don't want to dye it all back...that would look so boring to me now. And I can't do it myself. It's just getting a little stressful to pay that much for hair. I switched to all color-protecting shampoos and stuff, so maybe that will help it last longer. I don't know what to do.
Last night's show was really enjoyable. George is officially my favorite. I just love him. He keeps on wowing me with his great voice and his radiant personality. And he's from New Orleans- a place very familiar to me! :) My other favorite performances were Diana (can she bring it, or what?) and LaToya. I also voted for Jennifer, and John Stevens, because even though that performance wasn't so great, he's different and I want to see how he turns out. Also, I know it's not the Cool Thing to like Fantasia, but I do. Maybe she sounds like Macy Gray, but she's a lot of fun to watch!

You may not be able to do the trim and highlights, but you can tint the highlights yourself. Get some temporary haircolor at the drug store, or even a semi-permenant (oxy-moron) color. I used to use Clariol nice and easy. I used an auburn color on my blond hair that was meant for brown hair and it gave me this really wacked out red hair. That's what I was going for so don't get scared by that. Anyhow, you don't even have to do your whole head, just put it on your highlights, and get a friend to help you. No sweat. :)

Brenda, I like John Stevens, too. He isn't really doing all that well with his performances, and I want to just say, "Hey--start giving us a reason to vote for you!" He seems cute and sweet, but he is quite young and maybe needs some years to mature and enjoy his childhood.

This really made me laugh for some reason. :)

You can really tell who has performance experience and who doesn't. I was surprised at how obvious that was.

Sorry if I'm talking/commenting too much lately.
Oh, and I'm also sorry that I have suddenly developed a great affinity for the / ... I'm not quite sure where that came from, but it's a nifty/useful little key, isn't it?

Only a little over a month till you visit!

Does that make any sense?
But I do understand what you mean!

Man... $70 a visit *is* a lot. I don't like paying $8 every 2 months to redye my hair on top of my usual haircut costs. I think I'm chronically cheap.

The cute boy is also growing on me, though he doesn't really have a voice to speak of.
