chap stick!
Sep. 3rd, 2002 02:26 pmSo has anyone seen The Mothman Prophecies? Anyone think it was funny when the devil moth man says "Chap Stick" in the most evil tone imaginable? Well, my friends and I sure did. We've been saying it to each other all weekend. You'd think it would get old to me by now, but I'm finding it increasingly funny the more we say it.
I had an action packed Labor Day weekend, which, for the most part, was good. I hung out with Kathy, Jamie, Ryan, and my sister. (Evan impulsively went to Somerville to go mudding, so he missed all our activities.) We went to the football game, which was great since we won 52-6. :) The game prompted the exciting news that my sister, who enters college next year, is considering Memphis! Until now she's had the same attitude I had at her age (U of M was lame and shouldn't be touched with a 10-foot pole). But many of her old high-school friends are now in the Memphis band, and after coming to the game and seeing them all, she seems eager to come here. (Or stay here, as the case may be.) I never thought this would happen, and I'm very happy about it. :)
Other high points of the weekend were the big sale at the Gap (where I spent far too much money), a trip to Baskin-Robbins (where we laughed so much over our game of "Which of These Things Is Not Like The Other: The Verbally Abusive Version" that other patrons thought we were nuts), a trip to IHOP (where Ryan kept slamming his broken cell phone onto the table and scaring everyone), and a swim in the pool at the guys' apartment complex (where I got slightly burned after only an hour). I also scanned a lot of pictures at the school computer lab, courtesy of Kathy's ID and Ryan's password. :) I want to make pages for the pictures, but after my last disastrous attempt, I don't know that it's possible for me to put pictures online. :P
So it was a good weekend, and then it all sort of came to a grinding halt and I'm not feeling very happy. I am going to listen to my new Jimmy Fallon The Bathroom Wall CD later, and see if that does me any good. :)
PS- I forgot to mention that I lost several hours of sleep IMing with Jessica, which was very fun. :)
