housewife-ish woes
Feb. 18th, 2003 02:45 pmOkay. I seriously need to stop buying stuff. I've probably spent 200 dollars on myself in the last week, starting with that shopping spree at the Christian bookstore. It hasn't helped that Target has put practically the whole store on clearance. And that I suddenly thought of several CDs that I HAD TO HAVE immediately. Thankfully, the new Evanescence CD isn't out yet, so I can save money there. (They're a new band- they have a couple of songs on the Daredevil soundtrack, and as Wayne Campbell would say, they can wail. :)) Oh, and I forgot to announce that I just got a raise last week! So I'm not being completely irresponsible. But I need to stop throwing money to the wind.
I watched the Joe Millionaire finale last night. Instead of talking about it, I'll refer you to Dave Barry's recap. :)
I'm frustrated with my apartment. Well, mainly with the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Those rooms are so cluttered. In the dining room, we have an Igloo in the corner with a non-working lamp and four-month-old mail stacked on top. You'd think we were guys! :P :) The other rooms have piles of Stuff everywhere, too. I guess I'm a little OCD about clutter, and it's getting to the point that I gradually fly into a rage as I clean. Messiness doesn't bother Kathy, so she doesn't understand my feelings of futility...by the time I finish cleaning something, a new mess has magically appeared somewhere else. It makes me want to walk calmly out of the apartment, rent a new, empty one, and live there without any furniture.
The furniture itself is also bothering me. As in, we have too much, or maybe the living room is just too small. I want to rearrange, but there's really nowhere else for anything to go. And we need everything we have. I need to build an addition or something. The landlady would love that! :)
