you're my comfort, you're my superstar
May. 1st, 2003 01:59 pmWell, I've been hoping for a good downpour, but I wish it hadn't come while I was going, umbrella-less, to the landlady's to deliver the rent. :) I dried a little on the way back to work, but then got completely drenched running into the building. My shoes are soaked, which is kind of fun because now I can go around the office in my stocking feet while they dry. Actually, I enjoyed getting soaked. If I didn't have to work today, I would seriously go out walking in the storm. That would really improve my neighbors' opinion of me...first I go Phoebe-running after my cat, and then I play in the rain. Apparently I am just an abnormally large six-year-old.
Gandalf is the cutest cat in the world. Lately he's been less aggressive and more cuddly. I guess the warmer weather is bothering him, because he's been flopping around on the floor a lot. The other night, he was all stretched out on the rug sleeping, and he looked so cute that Kathy and I just had to pet him. Then he woke up, gave us a very indignant look, and went right back to sleep.
Free Scoop Night was good. I went to the first Baskin-Robbins of the night with Ryan, and got Key Lime Pie. It was awesome- there were real pieces of pie in the ice cream. Then I went next door to my favorite used bookstore while he went back to class. I went home to watch the American Idol results, fell off the couch in shock a few times, and then went to BR #2 with Kathy, MaryElaine, and Royce. We found Jamie and her boyfriend there, as well as some old college friends. (Kathy commented, "Haven't seen your friends in a while? Go to Free Scoop Night!") I had Extreme Berry Sherbet. It was, indeed, extreme. :) Then Kathy and I went to Blockbuster to rent the first X-Men again, but everyone else had had the same idea, so we got Tuck Everlasting instead. Emotional weeping ensued. :)
I'm looking for quotes or poems about sisters to put in Debra's scrapbook, but everything I find is badly-written and/or an ode to a sister who has died. :( Any cheery contributions would be appreciated.
Oh, this is my new favorite song. Just letting you know.
