iPod

My mom has generously decided to get me an iPod. So I have to decide what kind to get and how to go about getting it, and that's where I need input from you guys. :) The 20-60 GB pods are out of the question, so it's basically between a nano and a Mini, if I can find one. I'd greatly prefer the Mini. Overstock had some before Christmas, but they seem to be gone now. I'm nervous about the nano, since everything I've read claims that they break easily and scratch immediately when touched. :P

I'm not counting out the non-Apple mp3 players, but I'm concerned about product compatibility with those - I don't want to get stuck with something that will be un-usably obsolete before too long. On the plus side, some of them have FM receivers, which would be very cool.

I created a poll, let's see if it worked: iPod Poll )

Also, can anyone tell me how the heck to burn purchased iTunes songs onto a CD? I'm not even talking about converting them to mp3s - I mean burning them just as they are. I've researched and tried many things, and no matter what I do, it tells me I can't burn the song onto a CD because it's write-protected. This is very, very annoying, seeing as I purchased the music in order to listen to it somewhere other than at my computer at home. Anyone have experience in this area? I'm having the same problem with some .wma files that I foolishly bought from MSN Music.

Thanks!!!
