Hello. I'm hungry. Debra and I are going to Quizno's for lunch today! I haven't been in a few weeks and am very excited.

Book of the Week: I just finished Flabbergasted by Ray Blackston. It's Christian fiction, but not like any Christian novel I've ever read. I came across it at the library while looking for What a Girl Wants by Kristin Billerbeck (which they still don't have) and thought "Hmm, this looks interesting." It's fun and real, yet very intelligent. I recommend it to all of you, especially Danielle. According to his website, there are two sequels coming! Woo hoo. (Does anyone know where I can find a background like the one on his website? It's cool.)

That RUF CD I burned has hardly left my CD player this week. It's easier to focus on God when you're listening to hymns a lot, and the lyrics are so meaningful and well-written. Plus, there are such happy memories attached to most of the songs. I read a quote once that said something about how the people you sing with are your true friends. Well, I botched it up, but you get the idea.

I missed Clay on AI last night, but I called [livejournal.com profile] anulyra on my way home from band practice, and she gave me the play-by-play. The voting results were totally shocking. I won't say more, because then I'd have to use a cut and I'm tired of doing that for two sentences. Anyway, it was great to talk to Jen. I should call her more often. :)

Today I'm wearing lavender pants. I feel so daring. Now that my summer clothes are out, I intended to make this No Black Week at work in rebellion of corporate American fashion. But I just remembered that I wore a black skirt on Tuesday. Fie on me!

Oh, and yesterday marked eight months for me and Evan. :) I'm planning a really special date for us next month. Not a monthiversary thing, just a general thing. I'll tell once I have finalized it.

Hmn, I'll look into that book then. *G*

And Clay just looked and sounded amazing, honestly.

Oooh! I wish I had some lavender pants because I would wear them. It is gray and disgusting-looking outside. On the other hand, I get to not go anywhere today, so I am wearing my disreputable sweatpants and feeling all cozy and relaxed. So that's not bad, either.

Your keychain radio thingy should arrive on Monday (sez Jason).

it was great to talk to Jen. I should call her more often. :)

*beams* Yes, let's. :)

What part of the background? Just the gradient yellow? I can make stuff like that. What colors would you want?

You don't have to cut AI stuff the following day, do you? I thought that once all time zones in your friends list have seen the show, it's fair game.

Happy 8 monthaversary! I'd like to hear more details about how you'll spend the 9 month.

I can't believe LaToya was voted off! aaaaaaaah! I feel bad for Jasmine though. I really like her and it's sad that she got booed.

And Happy 8monthaversary!

I was never even involved in RUF and someone gave me an RUF cd called "Boundless Free" and I loooove it! Just simple, yet meaningful, hymns sung with such sincerity accompanied mostly by guitar. It's just beautiful.
I can't wait to be excited by clothes again. Maybe if I get a treadmill... lol =P I bet your lavender pants are really cute. ;-)
Ooooh- can't wait to hear more about your special date!

Yay for special dates! :)

I'm jealous of your lavender pants! I want some different colors in my wardrobe for summer this year!

No, it's not! It looks awful here, too, and I'd like to be resting in sweatpants right now. :)

Well, I'd think so too. But I know the one time I post something without a cut, someone won't have seen it and will get upset.

Thanks. *hugs*

Yeah, that's the Auburn one! I used to have it, but someone borrowed it and never gave it back. Anyway, I always considered that one the least impressive of the RUF CDs! :) I have one done by NYU and the first two Indelible Grace CDs (recorded at Belmont). I think IG2 is the best. Also, I just heard that the Yale RUF has a new CD. I checked it out online and it looks really good. It's so fun that you have that CD. They're not that easy to come by if you're not in RUF circles. :)

You will be excited about clothes again! It takes longer than a week. :)

I've heard of that book before. Never was entirely sure what it was about, but I had heard it was good .. but then I'd forgotten all about it. So, I'm glad you mentioned it! I'll be sure to pick it up on my next trip to the library!!

I don't think I could ever go a whole week without black. Well, aside from the fact it's apart of my work uniform, it's my favorite color to wear, lol.

Well we are finally getting AI here starting on Sunday so if you all could be really nice and tell me who wins it will save me weeks and weeks of watching which to me really is just a waste of time as I watch too much TV as it is and generally get completely mad over the idol shows because of the no talents who get through just because they are 'pretty' and the great talents that don't seem to get anywhere because they are not popular!
Oh and I agree with you Brenda and I screamed at the TV a whole lot when Clay didn't become the last AI - funny how his carreer is stronger though isn't it!

Thank you for recommending that book! I've seen it on the shelf in Walmart, but was never sure about it. You can never be sure about Christian fiction, you know. I'll definitely check it out now!

Could you tell me where you got the songs for the RUF CD? Are they just Indelible Grace songs, or different ones? I need a little RUF in my car.

I missed Clay too! I knew I was going to be gone, so I set the VCR to record it, but I guess I didn't do it right, because all I got was static. I didn't even really care about who got voted off (because I was so sure it would be Jasmine), but I really wanted to see Clay! But I talked to Emily today and she told me all about the show. How dramatic and surprising it must have been!

Lavender pants sound so fun!

Yeah, he should have won, but it's all worked out for the best for him. His career isn't suffering for it. :)

Most of them are Indelible Grace, but some are from the RUF @ NYU CD (I think it's called From All Their Sin and Sorrow). I also included a few songs that aren't specifically RUF but are in the same spirit. :) Also, like I told Rebecca above, RUF at Yale (http://www.christpresnewhaven.org/cd) has a new CD that looks awesome. I don't know if you'd heard about that one.

Anyway, I'd be glad to send you a copy of my mix. :)

It was! Jennifer told me "Jasmine's on the couch with Diana! I think she's safe!" and I couldn't believe it. I felt bad for her, too, because you could tell she knew she shouldn't be there. It was sad.

I just ordered the next two IG CDs last night, so I guess I'll be getting most of those songs soon. But thank you for the offer! :-) I saw the Yale one last night, and I'm pondering that. And it makes me happy that Yale has an RUF. :-)

FYI, I just downloaded a few clips from the Yale site, and uh... the singing isn't very good. :-/ The music sound nice, but people are sort of singing in all kinds of different keys. I'm not sure I want it now. I might get the NYU one.

Oh, that's too bad! :( I'm disappointed. I had high hopes for that one. The NYU one isn't the best technically, either.

I went ahead and ordered the Auburn one, even though you think it's the least great. *g* I listened to a few clips and it sounded okay. Besides, as loudly as I sing in the car, I'll just drown 'em out.
