Thanks so much, everyone, for your well wishes. Every one of your comments means a lot to me...and to Evan too. We sat down Saturday night and read them all together. :) Your happiness makes me happy too! Yay!

Unfortunately I don't have time to say much right now because we are trying to get a location locked down by the end of the week. We've officially set the date for November 27...now less than five months away. I mean, how bizarre is this whole thing? On Thursday I was just regular old Brenda, contentedly plugging along, thinking about redecorating my apartment. Four days later I'm getting references for reception sites, making rush appointments at David's Bridal, and planning a life with the man I love. I feel like I've been dropped into an alternate dimension. The best news of the day is that my church is not nearly as expensive for weddings as I was told. In fact, it's cheaper than other places my parents were considering. So my dad told me to go ahead and book it! I'm so surprised and glad that we can get married in our own church. (See, I just had that weird feeling again. We? Getting married? Huh? :)) God is really bringing this together, even in the small things.

Emily's wedding was beautiful and went completely smoothly. She was the prettiest bride I've ever seen. Obviously, I have more to say about it but can't get into it right now. :) Sorry for all the incessant wedding talk...I promise I'll calm down after this week. Also, I haven't had time to look at my friends page at all. Thanks for bearing with me, and rejoicing with me!

You should also check into the Bridal Collection on Stage. That's where my dress came from and they were WONDERFULLY nice and you don't need appointments or anything. Had a wonderful caterer too :)

Hire a wedding planner (no kidding, this will save your life) 757-9339 is the number for Southern Event Planners, she will save your life, budget for you, do everything down to the last detail for you if you like (she also has smaller (two weeks before) packages to help you pin down the details and get everybody organized. All About Weddings in Gtown has good wedding planning services also. I didn't use them, just got my dress there, but they've done some of my friend's events quite nicely. Ours was pretty small, so I handled most of it myself. Feel free to wander down the hall if you are in need of any solicited or unsolicited advice!

Don't worry about talking as much as you want about your wedding. This is your time, and you make the most of it! I was once told that your wedding day is the last day where it's all about you, after that, it's all about the family, so make every second count! Totally enjoy it girlie!

yay for weddings!:-D I was very blessed to be spared from extensive wedding planning due to the kind of wedding I had. But it's good that you're getting started right away, too.

Oh yes, and the real reason I'm commenting is to say that you look so pretty in the "one down...two to go" icon! I love your hair!

I know what you mean about that weird feeling! It kept resurfacing even after I got used to the idea of getting married. The day before the wedding Jonno's good friend/the best man would look at me all of the sudden and break into this huge grin and say things like, "You're going to be Mrs. Ament, have you realized that??" and of course I had...but it still gave me that weird feeling! And now I get that weird feeling when Jonno introduces me to people as, "this is my wife..." Eep! There is more weird [but wonderful] feelings to come, Brenda! Enjoy the ride!!!

Yep, that close. :) We'll have to play it by ear. And like I said, I'll be huge and probably too tired for a reception anyhow. Don't count on us (paying for a "plate" for us at the hall). Just count us out and if we make it we'll come to the church and get dinner elsewhere. :) Trust me, you'll be glad you have the extra headcount for family.
