Happy late Father's Day! Everybody call your dad, if you haven't done so already. (I learned that more collect calls are made on Father's Day than any other day of the year. :))
If you need a good laugh, go watch the trailer for the new Eminem movie. It features dramatic shots of Eminem wearing a parka, doing thuggish things, while a song plays that goes "Mama, I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to make you cry, but tonight... I'm cleaning out my closet." As mothers everywhere gasp collectively, "Not the closet!!!" I mean, don't mothers normally encourage their children to clean out their closets? Mine certainly did. :)
Sunday School was especially good yesterday. We've been going through the "types" in Proverbs. The fool, the simple, the wise, etc. But yesterday we talked about friendship. (Fast Fact: the Hebrew word for "friend" is the same as the one for "neighbor.") So we read the proverbs about being a good neighbor/friend. We filled up the board with things that a friend should be, Biblically. It was practical, and convicting. After church, Evan and I got into a playful argument about the things on the list that the other lacked, in which everyone slowly got involved until we were all hurling silly accusations at each other. Which just proves that it was a good lesson. I've found that the more my friends and I like the lesson, the more we apply it to each other afterwards. :)
Public Service Announcement: When you use the self-checkouts at the food store, make sure you take all your bags with you. Apparently it is easy to leave things, because it keeps happening to me and to people I am with. So far we have lost milk, a pack of shrimp, and some potatoes.
I'm feeling better today. Can you tell? :)
