and all you can do is wait
Aug. 9th, 2002 02:48 pmMy living room is full of birdseed. Yes, you heard me correctly. Many pounds of it, to be made into 225 lovely tulle birdseed pouches, to be thrown at MaryElaine and Royce as they make their escape tomorrow afternoon. Why, you may ask, are the bridesmaids making 225 birdseed pouches on the eve of the wedding? Because the other night, when someone asked MaryElaine if she was having bubbles or rice at the wedding, she exclaimed, "I forgot about that!" And so, here we are. :)
Kathy called this morning to update me on the birdseed situation, and to inform me that my beautiful, blue, 300-dollar, 21st-birthday-present-from-my-dad Kenwood stereo has been unplugged and taken to the reception hall. I am glad to be of help (even if I wasn't asked). But if that stereo gets dropped, or stolen, or harmed in any way, I am going to cry.
But you know what? Tomorrow I'm going to stand at the front of Kathy's church and see MaryElaine come down the aisle looking beautiful, and be with her as she makes a covenant with one of the nicest guys I've ever met. And it's all going to be worth it. :)
And now, the Friday Five. Because you guys really care. :)
1. Do you have a car? If so, what kind of car is it?
I have a 1999 forest green Chevy Metro 2-door hatchback. It can fit in the smallest of parking spaces. Two people could pick it up easily. I love it. :)
2. Do you drive very often?
Every day to and from work, and many days to and from church or Bible study. I love to drive when I'm alone and can sing, but I get nervous driving with a lot of people in the car. So when we go places together, Kathy usually drives. Or sometimes Evan drives my car.
3. What's your dream car?
A midnight blue VW Cabriolet convertible with tan leather interior. :) I love Jettas, too. And I like the Focus. I probably would have gotten one if it wasn't so out of my price range.
4. Have you ever received a ticket?
Nope. Never. Never even been stopped. But I did back into a mailbox. :P
5. Have you ever been in an accident?
Other than backing into inanimate objects, and being backed into in the parking lot on the first day of my senior year of high school, I've never been the driver in an accident. But I was in a terrible wreck with my dad when I was 4 years old. We were in a little Chevette at a 4-way stop, and the other guy, who was in a huge Bronco, didn't stop. People were amazed that we were okay. I've never had to be reminded to put on my seatbelt, because of that.
