because you guys really care
Oct. 14th, 2002 09:28 amWhat is the purpose of bank holidays? Why should banks get more days off than everyone else? Do they work harder or something? Personally, I think everyone should get one holiday a month. I think the quality of life would greatly increase. :)
Since I don't work for a bank, I will sit here and tell about my weekend. Debra's school won their homecoming, to everyone's surprise. Ryan and I met my parents at the game, and he helped me take pictures while Debra was out on the field for senior recognition. I also got to spend some time with my dad, which was nice. After the game, Ryan and I went to O'Charley's with Debra and her boyfriend. Debs and I shared a potato soup that was really interesting. It looked almost like cheese dip in the bowl, but it was definitely soup. And it tasted great. I just had to avoid looking at it. :)
Saturday, Kathy and I went out to Wal-Mart to buy cat things. We were very excited. Daniel came over in the afternoon and he and Kathy went for a long walk in search of rocks (explanation in a minute). I went out to my parents' house to partake of my dad's famous chicken soup. Lately I have really been craving time with my family, so I was glad to be over there for a while. I also had some much-needed bunny time, in which I melodramatically explained to Bun that I would have another pet soon, but he would always be first in my heart. He turned his back and hopped away. I guess it'll take time for him to adjust. :) lol. Anyway, then I went to Kathy's church for board game night. The high point of the evening was when Kathy and I ran to the food store to buy desserts for everyone. We bought donuts and two pies and two packs of cookies, and when the cashier saw it, she said, "Somebody's having a bad day!" It was funny.
Yesterday was Missions Sunday at church, so it was pretty interesting. Then I went home, and Kathy, Daniel, and I spent the afternoon painting rocks, because we thought it would be funny to give our friend Jonathan a huge box of painted rocks for his birthday. We realized that we know few people who would appreciate the random humor of a box of rocks. (Kerry, your name came up.) :) We also bought inappropriately-themed cards for him; mine was an "It's a Boy" card, on which I wrote, "Sorry it's a little late." :) Once I was tired of rocks, I drove back out to church for our annual Taste of Grace dinner, which is the most fun thing we do all year. Each group within the church cooks something, and there's a contest for the best food. Since our c/c group is on hiatus, we just got to eat this year. I was crazy about the fish and grilled veggies from the men's group, but Ryan preferred the "Chili in a Bag" and ice cream bars. :) After dinner, we snuck out to go to Jonathan's party. Kathy had given me directions, which Ryan quickly deemed to be the Worst Directions Ever. We got lost three times. But finally we arrived, and Jonathan liked his rocks (which we suggested he throw at his annoying roommate), and that was the end. :)
Oh, and by the way, it's freezing.
