because I am bored
Mar. 18th, 2003 11:10 amI finally broke down and installed Semagic. I'm already impressed with it.
Last night I called my family and sang Happy Birthday to Bun over the phone. My mom said he really listened, and seemed pleased afterward. I felt guilty for not going over there to see him, but it was my cleaning night, the President was speaking, and I just didn't have time. And yes, it's not like he really knew it was his birthday. But I'm going to go give him some special attention this weekend. :)
My throat feels like I swallowed sandpaper. I've tried hot drinks, cold drinks, cough drops, and soothing foods. Nothing is helping.
I keep forgetting to mention the awesome CD I got in the mail from
tingilya last week. Danielle, I am so impressed with the design. And the music is great. :)
Lately I've noticed that Memphis really is a great place to live. Part of me has always been waiting to move to some "cooler" place, but I think God's been showing me that I have everything I need right here. It's urban without being too urban. If I want to be in the country, I only have to drive fifteen or twenty minutes. The weather is great, for a couple of months of the year. :P There are good churches, workplaces, and restaurants here. People know what iced tea is. We have Music Fest. We have the Tigers. And we're near water, even if it's not water you can swim in or otherwise allow to come in contact with your body. :) I think if I ended up spending the rest of my life here, I could be happy. This is a big revelation. I did take the find your spot test, though.
Tulsa, OK Must be the tornado thing.
Norfolk, VA I would love to visit Virginia.
Clarksville, TN hi, Kerry
Jacksonville, FL I've thought about this one several times, and it seems the most plausible if I ever went back to Florida.
Chattanooga, TN Well, I've been to their aquarium.
Hattiesburg, MS hi, Danielle
Louisville, KY Not since they beat the Tigers!
Nashville, TN Maybe I should go live with my sister.
Greenville, SC I don't know much about this area at all. But it's near the ocean. Sort of.
Hickory, NC Yep, drawing another blank.

1 - I work about 40 minutes from Greenville, SC...it's a really cool, medium-sized city. We go out there every once in a while. It's about 5 - 6 hours from the beach.
2 - Hickory, NC...that's where I grew up!! I spent 20 some years of my life in Newton which is right next to Hickory!! That's so cool that it came up for you!! Hickory is turning into a pretty decent town from what I understand! I don't get up there very much. It's about an hour from the NC mountains though...if you like mountains!
Anyway...just had to comment on that!! :-)

Date: 2003-03-18 11:58 am (UTC)And I'm glad you like the CD! Yay! That was fun to make. Sorry it took me 89 years to send it. *g*
And I just saw your new layout. It's so cute! It reminds me of scrapbook paper, which makes me want to haul out the goodies and get to scrappin'.

Date: 2003-03-18 12:13 pm (UTC)I've been in a scrapping mood, too. I need to get some pictures from my parents so I can work some more on my book for my sister.
no big surprises here
I have been feeling sick today too. I suggest lots of Dole Fruit n Juice popsicles. They are very soothing on a sore throat. :)

Date: 2003-03-18 02:27 pm (UTC)It did look really nice from the pictures. And they say it's "Florida's youngest city"- the average age is 32. Interesting.
