Guess what? My church is putting together a band/symphony thing for Easter. About a month ago, they sent out a call for all the former musicians in the church to come and participate. They made a big deal about the fact that it was okay if you hadn't played in ten or twenty years. This is what usually holds me back from participating in things, so I thought I would consider it. However, they practice on Wednesday nights, when I had Bible study. I meant to call when the study ended and see if it was too late to join the group, but I kept putting it off- until today. I finally called the guy and he said to come to practice tonight and he'd have a book ready for me. I am so excited!

And I'm surprised at how excited I am, but really, I shouldn't be. In my heart I will always be a bandsman (er, woman). :) I can't believe I've managed to neglect that part of me for seven years. I have practiced a little over the last few weeks, and I sounded okay considering that I've hardly played all this time. I can still automatically play most of my scales, too. I guess it's like riding a bike.

Yay! :)

Aww, I'm jealous. A friend of mine got married last weekend and I ended up playing flute in the wedding, and my lips were trembling by the time I got done because they were so out of shape. :D (After about a year and a half of not touching the flute, that is - I didn't even know where it was. Heehee.)

W00t for band geeks. We rock. ;)

Hey, I think that's so great! Band people don't often have a place to apply their skills so I'm always glad when people can keep up with it somehow.

That's cool! (I might have asked this before but what do you play?)

Yay band geeks! :) *count me in*

I need to try to find an outlet for mine, also.

Band was the only constant that I had during my high school years. Yay for band geeks!
