Hello. I ate too many jelly beans. I want to go out and run a few laps now.
I just bought the new Derek Webb CD, since my mom gave me some money to buy a CD, for my Easter present. I also went to the bookstore to get the third Princess Diaries book- it's now out in paperback. And I finally got a small camera bag (on clearance) that can hold my digital and regular cameras. I'm trying not to feel guilty about spending all that money.
Tonight is Debra's last spring concert, so I'm going to that tonight instead of tutoring.
What forms of fidgeting do you use most often?
I mess with my hair incessantly. And I wiggle my toes, but it's not really a conscious act. Thankfully, no one can get annoyed by it since they can't see my toes.
What forms of fidgeting are annoying when you see others do them?
I don't know if you would call it fidgeting...but people who sniff really loudly, almost like a snort. My co-worker's boyfriend (who also works here) does that, and it drives me insane. I know it's probably due to sinus problems or something, but sheesh.
How many sides does your personality have, and how do they manifest themselves?
I'm still discovering sides. I think that's part of life. :)
Did you go to your high school prom? Tell us ALL the gory details.
I went to junior and senior prom. My senior prom was better, partly because I had a great dress. It was silver with sequins on the top, and satin on the bottom. My mom made it herself. Several other people there were wearing the same dress, and you couldn't tell the difference. :) I'll have to scan a picture sometime. Anyway, my boyfriend and I had a good time just hanging out and searching the crowd for other band people, but then we got bored, so we left and went to IHOP and ate Funny Face pancakes. It's a nice memory.
Describe your perfect day.
Sunshine, my best friends, good food, a good book, swimming or some other fun activity. Also, it would be great if someone declared his undying love for me, but I guess we're talking about "perfect" in the realm of possibility. :) LOL.
If you were a candy, what kind would you be? Why?
3 Musketeers, because it's filled with a weird substance that no one can identify, but a lot of people like it anyway. :)
Based solely on design, which is your favorite national flag?
Greece. I also like Australia and Cyprus.
Do you find that your dreams are different when you're napping as opposed to sleeping?
They do seem more vivid. Maybe it's because I really knock out during naps...I think I sleep more deeply in naps than I do at night.
What smells do you associate with summer?
Suntan lotion, barbecue grills, beach smells, my So Pink body spray (I started using it at summer conference last year and now it's permanently associated).
What are your summer plans?
Debra's graduation is at the end of May, and there will be lots of family activity. In the middle of June, I'm coming to California. After I get back, Harry Potter book 5 is coming out and I will be sequestered with it for some time. :) Then, over the 4th of July, I'm going to Miami with my family. My birthday is in August (also, Ryan's graduation). And at some point in the summer, Kathy and I want to drive down to Gulf Shores or something for some quiet beach time. It's going to be busy, fun, and exciting. :)
Did you go to summer camp as a child?
No, I was too busy with tennis camp, and then band camp. :P
Were you to write a book, what would be its title/topic?
At some point I AM GOING TO write a book. This is my promise to myself. :) I have always wanted to write a band novel, so if I never write anything else, hopefully I can wring that out at some point. I also have a faint idea to call another book Beating the Train, because I've lived near a train track for six years and I think it's interesting how beating a train might change your life. Sort of a Sliding Doors concept. :)
Describe the perfect moment of solitude.
Sitting in a sunny field of daisies, and just praising God for it. With bunnies nearby. Unless they would infringe on my solitude. :)
If today alone counted, what did you do for God's Kingdom?
Well...I prayed and read my Bible this morning. I told the guy at the bookstore to have a nice day. That's all so far. I'm a terrible servant.
What super power would you most want?
Flying.
What 3 historical figures would you want to take on a weeklong roadtrip?
I have no idea. I'm thinking C.S. Lewis would be one, so he could tell entertaining stories and talk about theology, but is he really a historical figure?
If you know you're going to be waiting for a couple of hours somewhere, what do you bring along to occupy yourself with?
BOOKS! :)
How many hairs do you have on your head? Include any facial hairs.
1027. Give or take a few.
Which celebrity is most in need of a nose job?
I don't believe in nose jobs. But if Michael Jackson could somehow get his nose back, I'd be all for that.
What objects do you misplace the most often?
My keys, and the TV remote.
This article just makes me feel sick inside. And scared. After reading it, I have decided that my future children are not going to public school. That settles it for me. :P If you decide to read it, be aware that there's some disturbing stuff mentioned...but I think awareness of this is important. My former college/career minister used to say that homosexuality was going to be the next big persecution issue for Christians. I agree with him more and more each day.

disturbing...:\
i'm probably gonna get flack for this...
all i'm going to say...not all homosexuals are like that...really.
But....I can see higher ups in the GLB community doing (wanting to do) the things that were mentioned in the article.
tolerance is coveted nowadays, no matter what the cause. tolerate this or your a bigot, etc.
I think Sexual persecution in General is going to be (and is) a big issue for christians.

Date: 2003-04-23 06:09 am (UTC)Homosexuality is a tough issue for me. I have homosexual friends, and I struggle to love them without supporting their sins. I don't claim I handle it well and probably err on the side of being too wishy washy. Loving people has always been easier for me than hating sin. All that said, I hope to raise my future, hypothetical children to love people better than I do and to hate sin more passionately than I do.
Interestingly enough my public high school was very Pro-Christian. We had a Christian club, and we prayed at my graduation. We observed a moment of silence each morning after the pledge so that those who prayed could do so. Students carried their Bibles along with their school books, and teachers openly spoke of their religious beliefs. This was in the Bible belt, though. And I wonder if it things have changed.
