chestnutcurls: (huh?)

Okay, annoying. The other day I scanned some fun old pictures on Debra's new scanner so I could randomly share them with you guys. I saved them all to a floppy, but apparently they didn't really save, because now nothing can open them. I don't know what's wrong. I guess I have to scan them all again when I get back from Miami.

Anyway. Hello! How was your weekend? Mine was okay. On Friday night I went to the Redbirds game, which was pretty fun. I spent three hours of my Saturday sitting in Wal-Mart, waiting to get my tires rotated (at one point they lost my keys, which made me feel great, let me tell you). After that fiasco, I went to my parents' to bunny-sit for a while, and then home to hang out with Evan and MaryElaine. We had a great intellectual discussion about fantasy novels. Later, Chris, Joe, and Steve (church guys) called to see if we wanted to go get coffee, but in the end they just came over and ate a large amount of my jelly beans. :P On Sunday I went to church, Evan happily joining me for the first time in eleven months, and then to lunch at McAlister's (again, because I could eat there every day). I spent the afternoon with Bun again and watched I Love The 80's for a couple of hours. :) When I got home, I felt restless. I wanted to talk to someone, or do something, but couldn't justify calling anyone since I had already seen them all weekend. I couldn't think of anything I wanted to do, so I ended up painting my nails and then going irritably to bed. Too much restful time is as bad for me as too much activity. Where is the balance?

In other news, Robert Jordan's books are really, really, really long.

That they are indeed. I have several of them threatening to fall on me if I do not read them. I haven't begun the series yet, but one of my best friends recommends them.

Oddly enough, he doesn't really like them. All the Aes Sedai and Conquering Women drive him beserk. He just likes reading really fat books. Silly boy.

Er, d'you like them?

I guess. They're okay. I'm mostly reading them because MaryElaine and Evan want me to. :) They're interesting in parts, but I feel bogged down the rest of the time because I have ten more books ahead of me and I know the story is Never Going to End. I'm not sure if I'm going to make it through the whole thing. I might go crazy.

But I think the Aes Sedai thing is cool. :)

That's interesting. I too despise Jordan's domineering women, but I love the series anyhow. :) I still need to finish reading book ten, though - about halfway through, I got too busy with other things and had to drop it for a while.

No kidding. I was so irritated. They only had, like, two mechanics on duty. :P

Hey, where have you been lately? I've missed your posts!

Well, I've been in class most of the time. Stranded at various train stations... No car... Emotionally, physically and financially exhausted...

haha! Expect a megapost soon, in other words...

I wish you were down here with me. You would love it. We are having a major weather event. :):):) Tropical Storm Bill. I decided that going to work in a tornado watch and a tropical storm was no fun, so i am working from home today and I have watched the weather channel or local news all day. you would LOVE it. :) Its the fun exciting, but not really dangerous kind. :)
Have fun in Miami!

*gasp* You mean we don't get to randomly see pictures? *pouts* Eh. I hate it when computers do things like that....

Sounds like you had a socially packed weekend! : )

When you find the balance between rest and activity let me know.

watched I Love The 80's for a couple of hours. :)

Ahh. I've seen a couple episodes of I Love the '80s; I only remember bits and pieces of that decade (born in '82), but it always puts me in a nostalgic mood... though I can see now that legwarmers and crimped hair were not high spots in our culture's history. ;-)

:)

I'd say the Madonna look was a lot worse than the crimped Nicole-from-My Two Dads look. :)

Why can't I have friends that want to discuss fantasy novels. All my friends are computer geeks, and I am not.
