Okay, things have calmed down now.

I guess I don't have anything else to say about my trip. My flight home yesterday was fine, if long. People looked at me strangely in the airport because my backpack, shifting on my charred shoulders, made me cringe in pain as I walked through the terminal. There was a cute flight attendant guy on my connection flight. He was Canadian. Eh?

Breakthrough: I've decided that I couldn't live in Miami again. Every time I go there, everything's gotten worse. More crime, more drugs, more overcrowding, more seediness. I love the ocean and the culture and the memories I have there, but in a sense, the city made me feel...dirty. Does that make sense? I was glad to come home. I love Memphis. Sometimes I forget that.

I'm staying at my parents' tonight to bunny-sit and do laundry. I'll probably also watch The Wedding Singer, since I've had a strange urge to watch it lately. It'll be a nice mini-vacation from my vacation.

My mom told me this weekend that she's proud of me. She says a lot of her friends' kids are "bums" who won't get a job or get out on their own, and she's glad to have a kid who's working and active and taking care of herself. That meant so much to me. At the end of everything, I really just want to make my parents proud, and I've worried that my mother is ashamed of my seemingly-eternal singleness. (I don't worry about my dad- he'd still be proud of me if I became a nun. He's even proud of my astronomically high standards. :)) So hearing that was like a weight off my shoulders. Yay God. :)

I'm proud of you too. :)

I just watched Wedding Singer! That movie never gets tiring. It's sort of like watching Friends.

Memphis does sound nice. I'm going to move there soon.

Hey, thanks! :D

Please move here! Please! You'll like it. Things are greener here. :) Bring Jonathan and Dania with you and we can all move to the same neighborhood and it'll be like a sitcom. :)

Yes, my dream is to live in the same complex as several friends and have regular barbecues and hang out at each other's places all the time. :) Then I'll complain about how I have no privacy.

Well then Brenda and Lawson need to locate a nice complex that has several available units for us to all move into. Who wants to be my roommate? This'll be fun. :)

Me, me, me!

I think Danielle (http://www.livejournal.com/users/tingilya) wants to move here, too, so we can get a three-bedroom or something. Or I could take over the apartment across from us that's been empty for four months, and we could have, like, a penthouse. :)

I'm telling you, Memphis is the place to be. :)

You all could join me in my van down by the river.

And I could move in across the hall with Jonathan, and we could get a monkey called Marcel. :P

i love the wedding singer...haha. I was watching it about a week ago!

Sorry Miami made you feel that way. It's funny...people who don't live here (or have never been) picture Miami as this glamourous city on the water...where everyone lives on the beach. Truth is...it's NOTHING like that..haha

:) Yeah, I was hoping for your thoughts on this. I mean, I will always love Miami, but it kind of makes me sad. I guess all big cities are like that now, though.

Where I live is actually perfect. I live south of Miami in Homestead...it's a nice small town...has a very southern feel to it. And I'm close enough to Miami where I can go whenever I want..but don't live there...ya know?

Yeah, Homestead is much better. It is more like a small town. Very convenient. :)

That's how NYC makes me feel ... dirty. I totally get where you're coming from. Nice to visit. Nice memories. Not a good place to live. It's funny how certain places are like that.

I don't worry about my dad- he'd still be proud of me if I became a nun.

I think my dad may be happier if I became a nun. Then he'd never have to worry about a boy, lol. Then I'd be married to God...can't do much better than that. hahaha :D

Oh, I think my dad would be happier too, because then he wouldn't have to pay for a wedding! Every time I say anything about Kathy's wedding, he starts saying what a waste of money it all is. My mother has already said that when the time comes, she's going to sew my wedding dress to save costs. It's depressing.

Yikes, how sad :(
I guess it's a good thing I'm not a "normal" girl - I haven't planned my wedding! It will all depend on the guy. I'm a no hassle kind of person...so as long as I'm wearing white, I don't really care where we have it. Heck, cheaper's probably better! :D
