Aug. 21st, 2003 11:40 amLook at me, posting before lunch! Yee haw.
I had a really fun surprise last night- Lauren called me! I was so excited to talk to her. We had a nice conversation until a thunderstorm came and forced me off the phone. Hopefully we can make the calls a more regular thing! Lauren, how did those potatoes come out?
My fun night continued with my first band practice since Easter (
admael, I thought about looking around the church for you, but I didn't know if you'd be there). We're starting on Christmas music; I thought the director guy was kidding at first. It's a fairly easy overture, but the music is badly handwritten and it's hard to play when you have to guess the note. :P I'm planning to fix it with my very professional Sharpie, because I just can't work that way.
Anyway, after practice I made spontaneous plans with Evan. He was supposed to be done fixing his truck by the time I got to his house, but when I arrived he was still welding. :) So I helped him put his truck tools away, which was interesting since I didn't know where anything went. Then I got on his computer and talked to Shana (yay!) while he cleaned up. By the time we were ready to go get some ice cream, as was our plan, nothing was open except the Wendy's pick-up window. So we spent an hour or so eating Frostys in the Wendy's parking lot. It was fun. I'm glad I got to see him, since he's going on another off-road extravaganza this weekend and then I'll be in Michigan, so we might not get to hang out for a while. But I'm very tired today.
Here's something for discussion. Do your real-life friends understand the whole LJ/online friends thing, or do they think you're weird? My friends tolerate my jabbering about you guys, but I think they find it a little disturbing. Evan's the only non-LJ friend I have who gets it (he's really active on an off-road message board). I mean, if I didn't have real-life friends I might think it was cause to get out more, but I think I keep a good balance. And besides, you guys are awesome. Everyone ought to be so blessed. :)
