There are a lot of little effects of a relationship that you don't think about until you're in one. For instance, the lack of sleep. I haven't gotten to bed before midnight in five nights, and for me, that's a recipe for collapse. It was normal back in my college days, but I'm apparently old now. :) Also, the mess is piling up in the apartment. Tonight Evan has his weekly gathering of truck people, so I'm planning to stay home, give everything a good cleaning, do the laundry, and then go to bed early. Only a week ago, this was a description of half the nights of my life. I like this new life better, but I still have to make time for the mundane things. And for the cat, who seems very unsettled by my absence and inattentiveness, and keeps taking it out by jumping on me and meowing extremely loudly at 2:30 am.

I'm getting ready to go to lunch with Evan. We're going to Schlotzky's. Yay!

I have other things to say but I can't really make them coherent. I promise, though, that soon I'll return to normal and stop gushing and talking about nothing. Wait, I've always talked about nothing. Okay, I promise I'll return to talking about non-sickening nothing. :)

:) Thanks. I'm glad. I just don't want the single people to feel left out or anything.

No, keep up the relationship entries, they are fun. And I definitely know about the lack of sleep portion of the relationship. It's improved a little, but since we only get to see each other a few days per week, we almost always have late nights.

It's also difficult to fit in normal life errands...I know Jonathan feels that little stress from time to time.

New relationships are fun! It's good that you're writing it down because then you'll be able to look back and remember.

Yeah, everyone has told me that it passes, but I don't think my sleep patterns will ever be the same. :)

Yeah. I know. It'll be fun to look back on this.

It passes, sort of, but I would guess it's more of an off and on thing, depending on how often you are getting to see each other. How was lunch? That's cool that you can go to lunch with him...I'd love to do that sometimes with Jonathan, but we work 20+ minutes apart, so I guess it's not very feasible.

It was great. :) He doesn't live anywhere near here (I think I told you that), but his printer is broken and he needed to print some resumes for a job fair today, so I printed them for him and then he came to get them and take me to lunch. :) Once he starts working we probably won't get to do that anymore.

Relationships are certainly draining, and they do tend to steal time from sleep and your daily chores. They're worth it, though, eh?

You're supposed to talk about what's going on in your thoughts / life in your journal, and if that's relationship stuff, all the better. I don't hear anyone complaining. (-;

mmm Schlotzky's- now you have made me hungry! :)

yeah- kiss sleep goodbye. I never get sleep anymore. Boyfriends tend to get needy and like to keep you up late. ;)

No, don't change your entries. They are a reflection of you and what is going on in your life. Your journal isn't meant to be a source of entertainment for others (even though it is), it's an outlet for YOU. It's YOUR personal space. So, if you want to gush about Evan, you do it. If you want to talk about pickles, then by all means... :) Follow your heart and write to us what you find there. That's what matters!!! :) :)
