It's amazing what a good lunch and some silly time with friends can do for you. I feel a lot less crazy now than I did this morning. I almost didn't get to go to lunch because our weekly conference call dragged on forever, but I did manage to escape in time. Thanks, God.

By the way, my friend Helen is very cool. :)

Last night I finally got time to make labels for several CDs that I had burned. While doing this, I listened to one of them: one of the great musical achievements of our time, the soundtrack of my middle-school angst. Yes, as you may have guessed, I'm referring to Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth album. I hadn't listened to it since I was thirteen, but to my own alarm, I still know most of the words. Over the wall!

I've tried to make a poll about a million times, but something always goes wrong with the code. Let's see if it works this time.

I love Over the Wall! I know all of the words to all of her songs on that album. I loved it the most.

I'm not surprised. :) I think I liked Out of the Blue better, but EY was definitely one of my favorites. I practically wore the tape out.

AAAAH! I was such a Debbie Gibson fanatic! :) Did either of you wear the cologne? That stuff was nasty... Hehe! But it was pink... who could be that?!?!?

Over the wall, there is a new world waiting....

lalala

I feel like pulling out my pink boombox now... wheeee! :)

Okay- 1st item of business! Your new journal look is sooooo awesome! I love the pokadots and the color. :-) 2nd item of business! I took the poll but feel very out of it now. I was an overprotected homeschooler in the 80s and the only person I had ever heard of was Madonna! So I chose her even though I was never allowed to listen to that "devilish secular" music. (ha!)
:-)

You're very businesslike! lol.

Thanks! Yeah, my mom was sort of strict about music too, but she thought Debbie Gibson was okay.

From the 80's divas I've only heard of Madonna but I don't like her music so I picked Pebbles. It's Pebbles Flintstone, right? I'm the only one who doesn't like milkshakes. How odd.

No, Pebbles was an actual singer. I don't know what her real name was. :)

Ooo, I forgot Paula! I think of her as more early 90's, though.

Yeah, I might have to post a link today so people can get informed. :)

At baseball games (at least at Memphis Redbirds games), on the jumbotron, they have cartoons of hot dogs racing each other around the baseball diamond- ketchup, mustard, and relish. Apparently this comes from an older tradition of pulling fans from the stands, dressing them in hot dog outfits, and making them race. I don't know if you heard about the Phillies (or was it the Pittsburgh Pirates?) controversy earlier in the year, when a girl in a sausage costume was accidentally hit by one of the players. :)
