that's cinnamon, that's Hollywood
Oct. 29th, 2003 03:25 pmWow, 3:00 already. You almost went a whole day without a post from me. :P
These SoCal fires are just unreal. I'm almost to the point of not watching the coverage anymore because it's too upsetting. Jo and Jennifer, I'm thinking of you constantly. I'm reminded of how hard things were around here after Summer Storm 2003- but at least most people still had homes to fix. I can't imagine just standing there watching your house go up in flames. For some reason I keep thinking about pets and hoping people were able to rescue them. I've been cuddling Gandalf a lot more than usual. G.K. Chesterton said, "The best way to love something is to realize that it might be lost."
I had to go to Harassment Training this morning, which was an aggravating experience chock full of political correctness. You other corporate drones probably understand. I vented about it at Wednesday lunch and now I feel better, but right afterwards I was ready to spit nails. I refuse to be a personality-less robot to ensure that I don't offend anyone. That's all I will say about that.
Okay, I really need to talk about something positive, that does not involve Evan. :) Um...one of my climbing plants has started putting out flowers. It was a nice surprise since I didn't know it was a flowering plant. They're bluish-purple blooms and very pretty. I took a picture this morning.

Date: 2003-10-29 02:19 pm (UTC)This picture was taken in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I have my mom to thank for it, since she thought it was a pretty spot and insisted on taking my picture. :)

Date: 2003-10-29 08:24 pm (UTC)Awww. That Chesterton quote is fabulous. I love him. :)
Argh, political correctness....grrrr. I totally agree with what you said. *hugs* Common respect and politeness....well, that's one thing. (Actually, those are two things, but you know what I mean. *g*) The "PC" stuff is really taking things way too far, in a lot of cases. It's annoying to have to go to classes like that.
Hope you have a really wonderful day tomorrow, girl. Take care!

Date: 2003-10-31 08:17 am (UTC)The third day I had to turn off my tv because every channel was covering all the fires, and how they were interviewing people who lost thier homes, etc. I couldn't watch that anymore. :(
I really hope they catch these guys who did this. I can't believe people would do such an evil act. I don't know how people can live with themselves after doing such a crime. It makes me sick. But we also need to pray for them too.
