chestnutcurlsYesterday I got to go home at 3:30. I was sitting here, quietly reading, when the power went out all over the building. At first it couldn't quite decide whether to go out or not, and the office looked like a disco. Then it was very, very dark. After about ten minutes, we found out that not only had the transformer blown, but also the backup transformer. So we all went home. :)
However, I had been at work long enough to discover that, apparently, I have finally become interesting enough to be the subject of office gossip. :P Ryan and I went to lunch yesterday, and he came to pick me up. I got back at 2. At 3, one of my co-workers came over and said, "I hear some guy's been picking you up in a Porsche." Now, our department is in the opposite corner of the building, so I said, "Who could have seen me?!" (No one I know was around when he came to get me.) She wouldn't tell me, but she said to be careful because people around here see everything. (Apparently.) And told me that now people were saying that I had a boyfriend with a Porsche. Obviously this could only help my "image," :) but it's not true, so it irritated me. I let her know in no uncertain terms that he is JUST MY FRIEND, and I think she is going to spread that back through the ranks for me. :P I never expect anyone to notice anything I do, so this whole thing surprised me. Now I really want to have Evan come pick me up sometime, and see what they say about that. "Um, now she's got a boyfriend with a huge, muddy monster vehicle with some sort of snorkel on it." lol.
The RUF golf tournament is today, so I am leaving at noon. Two short days in a row. Woo hoo. :)
