I feel good (na na na na na na na) today. The weather is so nice and more things are blooming. There's a dogwood tree near my work that I keep meaning to take a picture of. I can do it tomorrow, since I was informed earlier that our office will be closing at 2! :) I almost feel guilty for being in such a good mood today. It's Maundy Thursday- I'm supposed to be somber. Sunday is for happiness.

My orchestra practice last night was wack. I came straight from work and then had to sit there for an hour while the choir rehearsed. (They're singing "Were You There" and it gave me chills...I can't wait to hear it in the service.) Finally they allowed us to come practice the song we're doing with them, and then we had to practice our own song. I got home at 8:30, very irritated. The cool thing about the night was that Kristin and Amy, the other two flutes, gave me a flute stand! They wanted us all to match for our trio in a few weeks. Kristin said they don't let just anybody into the "Flute Stand Club." I feel loved. :) Since joining the band (a year ago!) I feel much more plugged in at the church. Yay for serving!

I had lunch with my friend Rachel today and it was great. She's such a cool person. She's a little younger than me and really involved in RUF, so she updated me on the latest happenings in the group. Stuff like that makes me feel old, but in a good way, now. :) I'll see her again tonight at communion service. Traditionally we have pie afterward, but I have to get home for The Apprentice, which is far more addictive than pie. Oh, did anyone see the Omarosa sketch on SNL last week? Where things kept falling on her head? Hilarious.

Almost every day, I check my Amazon wishlist to see if there are any really low used prices. The problem is, even if you find a book for, say, $1.60 (like today), by the time you add shipping it's over $5. Which is not so ridiculously cheap. Sigh. Also, why can I not find green flip-flops anywhere? Has anyone seen any? Okay, now I'm just babbling. Sorry. :)

What shade of green, chicky? Target usually fulfills all my sandals desires...

Oh! And I think this year I'm going to splurge and get some nice ones at Oshman's... $15 as opposed to $4... but they look so comfy!

I felt like I looked more important when I finally broke down and bought a flute stand... ;) But then I proceeded to squeak my way through my solo... oh well!

Well, these (http://www.gap.com/asp/Product.asp?wdid=201740&wpid=229280) are pretty cool and not too expensive. It's not exactly what I wanted, though. Any shade of green is good. I just have a lot of green stuff, and all my flip-flops are pink or blue.

Oh, and I want this shirt (http://www.gap.com/asp/Product.asp?wdid=9002025&wpid=230959). I need a server that blocks shopping websites. :P

Noooo - don't give them any more blocking suggestions! Then I'll have nothing left to do at work but work!!

Is a flute stand just like a music stand, or is it different somehow? I don't get it.

I'm surprised you can't find green flip flops anywhere. Maybe Walmart? Or even Payless.

We sang Were You There in my other choir before! I forgot about that song until you put that in the subject line. I used to make fun of how it keeps going "tremble...tremble.." It's so low at that part. :)

It's different. It's a little tripod thing with a stick in the middle so you can set your flute down upright. I've never had one before so I'm excited.

Yeah, I should look at those places. I can feel the annual Flip Flop Mania coming over me...this is how I filled a Tupperware storage thing full of them last year.

Brenda! Be happy on every day and feel no guilt. Life's been pretty good to you. Where a smile and show your appreciation of your good fortune. You earned it and your worth it. :)

:) Thanks. You're nice.

I've been meaning to ask, is that icon someone you know, or does she represent one of your characters or something?

That May, my gal at large. :) She represents good things, and she's someone I know.
Hmm. Maybe I should make a Brenda character in my books. :)

I don't know if I'd want to be immortalized in print. :)

Okay! I just wondered. She's gorgeous!

I saw a pretty decent flip flop selection at the Old Navy on Winchester and Riverdale this week, but I wasn't looking, so I didn't notice if they had any green ones.

I'd love to see the photo of the dogwood. My parents had a dogwood in their front yard - beautiful tree - but an ice storm brought it down. =(

Old Navy had green flip flops last year. You should definitely check there. I love flip flops! One of the best things about summer is the combination of a nice pedicure and cute flip flops!

I agree! :) Sorry about your dogwood. I'll have pictures of this one on Monday!
