Happy birthday, Sara! Y feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Kathy's masters thesis is finished! She's turning it in this afternoon. I'm so proud of her, and so glad that she gets to return to the land of the living now. God is faithful!

For today's lunch I went to Wendy's for the Brenda Combo- chicken nuggets, a side salad, and a medium drink. It's a tasty and well-rounded meal for $3.25. I used to go there weekly, but haven't in a long time since I'm trying to save money. When I pulled around, the familiar drive-in lady recognized me and asked where I've been! That was funny and nice.

Have you heard that new song, "Broken" with Seether and Amy Lee? I like it. I really wonder if Evanescence is going to break up now that Ben Moody (the guitarist) is gone. That would be a shame. By the way, I realize that my journal has degenerated to an advertisement for various restaurants, musicians, and media. Sorry. I don't know why I'm especially shallow lately.

I've been wondering about some technical aspects of weddings and receptions, so I think I'll do a poll. Please answer only if you are or have been married, or answer what you plan to do if you're engaged. I'm curious. I'll include a "want to see results" option so everyone can learn. :)

We went to a nearby park, where we had reserved a shelter. Basically, it was one of those where we opened the gifts and showed them to everyone...but only because there was no way we could even get them home from the reception without opening them. My mom had made all kinds of little finger foods, and I never even got to taste them...we had just filled our plates when the wind hit the sprinklers and started blowing water all over the gifts (the other reason for opening them). Some little kids stole my food!! Grrr. *ahem* But Chris was darn cute!

Haha.. sorry, it's not funny but it is. Sprinklers? Yikes. I really hope to wait to open my presents for after the honeymoon. I want that fun thing to look forward to when I come home.

Like so many things in life...at the time, it was not so fun, but talk about a good story! Did I tell you that it was only after my veil had been affixed with a hundred hairpins that some astute person realized that it needed to be ironed? The last thing I thought I'd be doing twenty minutes before my wedding was staring up at the bottom of a steam iron and pleading with she who wielded it not to burn me on my wedding day.

Perfect lives make for boring stories, so it's a good thing that mine has been so 'interesting' in a Confucian sense!

Yeah, everyone has funny problems with their wedding. My sister's was on like the windiest day we've ever had in our town, and the ceremony was outside in a plant nursary area. So her veil blew out and hooked to a rose bush and when she started walking she realized she was caught and my dad had to undo it. Nice.
