just like birds of a feather
Jun. 4th, 2002 09:19 amSometimes I am struck anew by the concept of "brothers and sisters in Christ." It is amazing to me to think that there are people all over the world, other believers, whom I don't even know, but am related to and will spend eternity worshiping with. Even more amazing- the friendships I have with other believers are forever. Knowing this, I see my friendships differently. Kathy and I share so much, and we've only been friends for five years. Imagine how many things we'll have to talk about after a million years! :)
That knowledge also helps me to be more respectful toward other Christians who I might not get along with so well. It makes me think of my marching band years. Anyone who's ever been in a good band knows that there is a familial unity among band members. They will fiercely defend each other to outsiders, even if they don't like each other. It's a very flawed illustration, but something about it comes back to me when I am thinking about the family of Christ.
In other news, I have a big painful blister on the inside of my toe from my denim rhinestone flip-flops. Which will prevent me from wearing said flip-flops until it heals. Which is almost as bad as the blister itself.
Randomness, anyone?
