coming attractions

My sister and I had a great picnic lunch. We went over to the pond at Audubon Park, sat under a tree, ate good food, and watched ducks. It was very peaceful.

I am already excited about next Friday night. For those inhabitants of Under-a-rock-ville who don't know, the Tyson-Lewis boxing match is going to be held here in Memphis next weekend. (I hate boxing, and I think Tyson is mentally ill and should not be allowed to fight; so this is not why I am excited.) The fun thing is that hundreds of celebrities, including Justin Timberlake, John Travolta, and basically every player in the NBA, are going to be in town. This is a huge deal, since nothing exciting ever happens in Memphis, except during Elvis's Death Week (which coincides with my birthday).

My point is: A bunch of us girls are going to go downtown on Friday night for dinner and a movie. But we will go to a late show, and in between time, we are going to celebrity hunt. :) I'll be taking my digital camera, so expect fun photos next week. And yes, that is not so nice, and celebrities ought to be left alone, but I've never met anyone famous (except John Stamos outside the bathroom at Disney World, which I've mentioned in a previous entry). So :P.

I would SO pay to see Mike Tyson get beaten to a pulp, but they're blacking it out in Memphis. BAH!!! I guess I'll just have to read about it in the paper and wait several years for the Rumble on the River to make it to highlight reels...

Actually, I just checked into it, and we CAN get the payperview. I'm seriouly thinking about ordering it, but $50 is a bit expensive for only me :)

BTW, you DO realize the fight is June 8th, right? That's a Saturday last time I checked...

I know it's Saturday, but a lot of people will be here anyway. If we went out the night OF the fight, we wouldn't see anyone, because they'd all be AT the fight.

Yeah, it's expensive. Evan was thinking about ordering it, but he said I'd be cowering in the corner the whole night with my hands over my eyes, saying, "Is it over yet?", so he decided against it. :)
