I know this is really late, but since Chain Reading was down, I wasn't sure what I had read in December. The answer: not much. Both re-reads.
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
The story of Remy, a smart girl who's justifiably cynical about love (her mom's on her fifth marriage). She's looking forward to leaving town at the end of the summer. Then she meets Dexter, a musician who refuses to let her get away. I didn't fully appreciate this book the first time, but now I see how good it is.
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
A lot of people think this is nothing more than "the original romance novel." They are so, so wrong. It's historical and epic and has wonderful character development. If you are a Southerner, if you're a Civil War buff, if you appreciate good writing, read this. (Melanie Wilkes is one of my role models.)
Books for December: 2
Total books for 2006: 75
