I just got a very happy surprise. The receptionist called to tell me there was a delivery for me. All the way to the front desk, I was wondering. Something for my birthday? But it's not till Friday. Kathy, with food? No, it's only 10:15. :) I figured it was probably just a rush-delivery package. But when I came around the corner, it was flowers! A huge arrangement of daisies and sunflowers and the flowers that grow all along the stem (I can't remember the name at the moment), and a few coral-colored roses- all my favorite kinds of flowers! For a minute I dared to hope that Someone had sent them. But they were from my bosses, which was even more of a surprise! They sent them to commemorate my 1-year anniversary at the company. Isn't that nice? I have the most considerate bosses in the world. :) I put the flowers here next to me, where I can smell them and look at them all day. :)

danialand, I'm going to make that CD for you tonight. I haven't forgotten about it. I was just sidetracked with the wedding thing. :)

That's cool... I don't think I got anything for being at my current job for a year. I did just get my longevity payment for 3 years, which was just under $200 after taxes.

Recognizing an employee for their time with the company? What's that? I've been with mine now for 3.5 years. I have to remember that myself since no one else reminds me. FDC once put on the board that she had been here a year. We have to celebrate in our own ways (ha). You are lucky to receive flowers...I'd be happy with just a tiny "Hey, I see that you've been with us for 4 years today. That's great, thank you." Actually, I'd be happier if I never reach that point.

sorry to hear that, Jesse. on my one year anniversary I got a pen from Tiffany's with the company logo on the end of it. I don't use it because I'm not really crazy about the ink in it, but I was glad to have been acknowledged. I don't know what they'll do on my second anniversary, but I don't really expect anything on a 2nd. How is your job search going for you?

Hey this is cool...I'm testing something. You can screen your comments so that only the person who wrote the entry can see them. I just want to see if I can do that from here or if I have to do it after the fact, so I thought I'd use you.

Hm..I think you have to post it first and THEN screen it. So there's a split second where it's not screened. Weird.

Nevermind, it won't let me screen it. I guess it's only in communities and you can screen it cause it's your journal. Weirdies.
