Valentine's Day

chestnutcurlsOne of my friends recently observed that the only purpose of Valentine's Day is to put more pressure on everybody. If you're with someone, you stress about doing/getting something special. If you're not with someone, you stress about that. It's bad!
What was it that Joey said on last week's Friends? "I want to spend Valentine's Day with the woman I love. And I want someone to take away the pain of knowing that's never gonna happen!"
Well, while I agree with that sentiment, I am not approaching this V-day with as much cynicism as usual. Obviously I am not going to have a Valentine lovefest either, but that's okay. Maybe tomorrow, or next week, or next month, or next summer will make up for it. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.
And maybe for Joey, too. We'll watch and see. :)
