I have actually been busy today! We also had a department lunch at Houston's, which was fun and helped to kill some time. :)

I don't think I have mentioned that Kathy and I have started exercising. I like to take walks, but I've had to stop because it's way too hot. Around the time I quit walking, Kathy decided she wanted to lose some weight (she weighs about 10 pounds, so I don't know where she's going to lose it from), and we should start doing the exercise tapes that we used to do when we were in school. I couldn't find the one we used to do (a Cosmopolitan aerobic workout with an evil instructor named LouAnne), so we've been doing a dance tape. However, it hasn't taken us long to get sick of it. So last night I pulled out a 29-Minute Workout that my mom got in the '80s. And boy, is it funny. Everyone on the tape is wearing those horrible '80s spandex catsuits with the underwear-looking things over them. (It reminds me of the Great Shape Barbie I used to have.) But once we got past the outfits and the Miami Vice-esque music, it's actually a pretty good workout. We felt very Hans-and-Franz when we were done. :)

I like exercise because it makes me more thankful for my health. I am glad I can move and wave my arms and chasse and annoy my first-floor neighbor. :) I love dancing. I was in ballet for six years, but I dropped out because I couldn't do a split and thus could not move on to the next level. I have no flexibility in that behind-the-knee area. At the end of our ballet video, there's a stretch where you're sitting on the floor, and you're supposed to lean forward and grab your ankle. Kathy and I can barely grab our knees. It's pretty sad. :)

Here's something really funny I saw at Amy's blog. I can attest from experience that these classes are needed (especially Topics 7 and 10), but please don't be offended, guys. :)

hahahaha.. I'm laughing at that list of classes, but I actually wanted to respond and say that your new icon is totally something that my friend [livejournal.com profile] dakoda would use, so I actually thought (at first glance) that this was her journal.

I love the one about the toilet paper...do they grow on holders? Ha, I don't know why but that's totally cracking me up.

Also, I totally know what you mean about exercise being a nice reminder that we have health. Whenever I'm out walking I try to remind myself that I can, and it gives me a little boost of energy to think about that. Such handy legs!

Yeah, it's a pretty popular icon. I think I actually got it at one of the icon communities. I wanted something new until I can figure out how to use the new icon maker I downloaded (it's pretty crummy, but it's free, for 30 uses of the program). I spent yesterday afternoon making an icon, and then when I finally had it up to specs, LJ said it was too big. I was mad. Anyway, that has nothing to do with anything. :)

Wow, there's actually an icon maker? What does that do differently than any other graphics program? I'm curious.

This one is called Easy Icon Maker. I'm told that Photoshop is the last word in icon-making, but it costs about 60 bucks and doesn't have any free trials online. Basically that's what you use to make the icons that have text and stuff on them. As well as to make them clearer and more pretty, I would guess. I've made mine just by reducing them in Photo Editor, but as you've seen, they're not that high quality. And I want fun icons like other people have. :)

I LOVE Great Shape Barbie.

Number 10 made me LOL. That's a real issue for me.

I could use some number 12.

And number 8 is incorrect for guys like me who are allergic.

Funny stuff, though.

Photoshop? Sixty bucks? Eee. It's more like $1,700. For real. Anytime you want an icon made, I can gladly do it for you! Just let me know!

Yeah I thought she did a typo with one 0.. $600 sounds more like it.

I use Photoshop or Paintshop for my icons, but I've never really thought to add text or whatever to them. I should get a little more creative in that area, I just always neglected that.

Thanks! If I can get my creative thoughts together, I might enlist your help... :)

Yay! You linked to my cousin. :) How fun. Brenda, you and Kathy seem to have so much fun! I miss having a roommate. :( You always have someone to talk to when you come home...well, if they're actually there! My good friend was my roommate senior year and she was NEVER ever home.

Hey, I didn't know that was your cousin! Cool! :)

Yes, we always have fun. My life got so much better when she moved in. :) Like you said, it's great to have someone to talk to. When I lived alone I used to go home and there was no one there, and I would end up just sitting there. It was very depressing. Kathy moved in earlier than she had intended, just so I wouldn't have to be by myself anymore. I don't think those situations are so good for your mental health. :P Especially for us INFJs! Woo hoo! :)
