This was a good weekend for everybody! Evidence:

Football: Memphis won! Miami (both Hurricanes and Dolphins) won! UT lost! :) (My favorite radio recap of that game: "The weather was bad, and so were the Volunteers!")

Band: At the Ripley Invitational, my sister's band won grand champion due to a color guard score that left all the others in the dust. My sister, the color guard captain, is finally getting the glory she is due. I just couldn't be prouder of her. :) I also got to see my brother march for the first time, and he is actually pretty good. I'm proud of him, too. :)

Emmys: Yay for Friends and Jennifer Aniston! Yay for Allison Janney and The West Wing! I was also happy to see the brother from Everybody Loves Raymond win. However, I was disappointed that Matt LeBlanc didn't win. He deserved that award more than anybody. (By the way, I'm usually not this into awards shows, but I cared about this one because the few shows I watch were all nominated.) Oh, and did anyone else wonder where Janel Moloney's hair and half of her dress had wandered off to? :P

Weather: I was finally able to open the windows last night. It feels very fresh and clean and cool in the apartment. :)

Decisions: Kathy and I are going to get the cat! My family is unsupportive of this, but everyone else is excited. So we are going to go visit the kittens soon and decide which one we want. We have decided to call it Arwen if it's a girl and Pippin if it is a boy. :)

Food: Friday night we all had a nice, delicious meal at Macaroni Grill. Saturday night, up in Ripley with my parents, we found this place called Bozo's which turned out to be a seafood buffet. It was amazing. My dad and I were then inspired to partake of world-famous Ripley tomatoes, which Kathy and I enjoyed on a homemade pizza last night. :)

Other Things: were not so good, so I am not going to talk about them. :P

:)

Yeah- Janel Malloney was wearing a really ugly dress. I thought she had chopped off all her hair at first, but I think it was just pulled back. - And go Stockard Channing for winning 2 Emmys.
Can't wait to see you guys- so everybody needs to pray that Isidore continues its downgrade. Right now it is a tropical storm and is having fun over the Yucitan Peninsula. But they are saying it will probably turn my way, but it shouldn't be that bad as we were thinking earlier. I am keeping my hopes up, because I don't want my apartment to flood.
:)- love, em

Awww, cute kittie names!
I'd name the boy Gamgee if I had one, heehee. No wait, that or Boromir! In Loving memory of our best pal Boromir:)

Do you like Arwen? I think she's an awesome character. I totally don't like the actress, but, she was perfect for the part of Arwen, and I just Love Arwen! She's so pretty and cool! :D

I like Eowyn best, but I like Arwen too. I agree, Liv Tyler is perfect for that role.

I just couldn't name my cat Boromir! LOL!

Brenda,
Sounds like a great weekend! Are you and Kathy sharing the cat? What happens if one of you moves? I liked your names too. I really want a cat, but I'm not allowed to have one in my current apartment. If I were allowed to have one, I'd choose an orange one, and name him or her Marmalade.
:),
Lauren

PS The Noles won our game this weekend too. Bowden even played our third string quarterback.

Marmalade! What a cute name! :)

Yes, we are sharing the cat. I think it may be mostly Kathy's cat, since she's grown up with a cat, and my heart already belongs to the bunny. :) But we're sharing it. We don't plan to split up until one of us gets married, so I figure whoever's not getting married gets the cat. It's only fair. :)

yep not much into the award shows either but Conan was hosting so I had to watch at least part of it. I am always taken back when they take the short bit of time to show a picture of everyone that had died in the last year. when you here someone died its like ok but when you see everyone at one time it always really hits me and puts life in perspective a bit.

Yay! :) She's great. I'm just now reading the College Years ones. I cheated and skipped up to I Promise and read all the wedding stuff, and had a good cry, and now I think I'm not going to read that one again. :)

The last book I read was I Promise! I totally cried and got all mushy and swoon-y. My favorite series is the Palisades series (I think it's called that). I also really really liked the Princess. Do you suggest any others?

The Princess is actually Lori Wick. She's great too. The first books of hers I read were the Californians series, and I think those are her best.

I was just watching this show on TV, last weekend, with the band competitions and color guards and stuff. Otherwise, I would never even know what that was! The color guard that they featured had to be very talented and work really hard to do her job. That's pretty awesome that your sister does that.

You were watching DCI then! I missed it! It comes on once a year and I never know when it's going to be. Well, very cool that you saw it. It is very demanding- guard, I think, even more so. People think it's easy and all you do is throw a flag around. It's not that way at all. :)
