2001: Good Riddance
Dec. 31st, 2001 02:45 pmOnly once before, on New Year's Eve 1999, have I ever been so glad to see a year go. 2001 has been the most eventful year of my life. In one year, I became a college graduate, went to the wedding of two of my freshman-year friends, had one of my roommates of 3 years move away, started my first real job, got my heart stomped on, battled (unsuccessfully) to paste on a happy face throughout the stomping, bought a car, moved into my first apartment, and tried to comfort one of my close friends when her father died (the first of my friends to lose a parent). And of course, there was September 11th- no need to elaborate there.
God made the good events possible, and saw me through the bad events, and I'm sure He accomplished things through them, even if I never know what those things are. But I am anxious to turn the calendar tomorrow (or would be if I had a new calendar). :) I am looking forward to "a new day, without any mistakes in it" (thank you, Anne of Green Gables). Hooray for 2002!
