This is very exciting! Please note that my answers to these questions are what I would ideally want at my wedding. For reasons of practicality and finances (and timing, which I cannot yet foresee), some of them will probably not be possible. But I can dream. :)

The Wedding Ceremony

1. How do you feel about the bride and groom seeing each other in wedding attire before the ceremony begins?

I think [livejournal.com profile] grace20 said it best: "I want him to see me for the first time that day when I'm walking down the aisle so he can cry and all that." :)

2. How do you feel about the pastor giving a sermon during the ceremony?
I don't really feel that weddings are the place for evangelizing. However, I definitely want a worshipful wedding, with hymns fore and aft. :) And if my current pastor marries me, I know things will be said about the Church as the Bride of Christ and Christ as the Bridegroom, and I like that.

3. What are your thoughts on special music during the ceremony?
I think most of the special music should be done beforehand. It makes more sense, and it sets a mood. I want to have something during the ceremony, but probably only one song, as I would feel very silly just standing there while music played.

4. Do you think only the Wedding March should be played for the bride walking down the aisle, or do you have some other ideas about that?
Woo hoo! I get to talk about this! :) I am going to come down the aisle to "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty," one of my favorite hymns. I heard a story about a wedding where this was done, and the bride (and everyone else) was singing as she came down the aisle. I wouldn't do the singing thing, but it made such a beautiful picture in my mind. :)

5. What features in a ceremony have you seen/heard of that were unique and a nice touch?
See story above. :) Friends of my friends are always getting married, so I hear stories all the time, but right now I'm drawing a blank.

6. What features in a ceremony have you seen/heard of that were tacky or inappropriate, in your opinion?
I don't know about the foot-washing thing. It is symbolic and touching, but there are practical issues that get in the way. Like the bride's pantyhose. :)

7. What features of a traditional wedding ceremony could you do without unless it was really important to the other person?
I won't freak out if I don't have a ring bearer or flower girl. Currently there are no young children in my family, so unless I have nieces or nephews by then (or he does), I'll have to go without that.

8. Do you feel strongly about having your wedding ceremony in a church, or would you be willing to have it somewhere else?
You're going to laugh. Here goes. My dream would be to get married in a meadow, in springtime, on a sunny day, with lots of flowers. And bunnies hopping around. No, I am not kidding. Of all my wedding dreams, this is the least feasible, so I don't expect it to happen. So, I would like to get married in my current church. We have a beautiful new sanctuary and it's just the right size for a wedding. I occasionally imagine myself coming down that aisle while I am at church, which is probably bad.

The Wedding Reception

1. Do you want to have dancing at the reception?

Yes. I want people to have fun at my reception. :)

2. How do you feel about the bride and groom smashing cake all over each other during the cake cutting/eating portion?
Absolutely not. It's just immature and bad, and messes up the clothes. If the groom really wants to be silly, he can do what Royce did and pull the cake away. :)

3. How do you feel about serving Champagne for a toast at the reception?
I'll do it, but I will also have sparking juice available.

4. How do you feel about having a Limo?
It would be fun, but it's not a necessity. (Maybe [livejournal.com profile] pipermcgrupp would be willing to drive one for me.) :)

5. What kind of music would you like at the reception, if any?
I would like to hire the Cordova Jazz Band. :) Barring that, I would like Adam Sandler to come to the reception as his Wedding Singer character. :)

The Honeymoon

1. What are some ideas you have on where you'd like to have a honeymoon?

Hawaii. Or New Zealand, where we would take a tour of Lord of the Rings sites (because I wouldn't marry a man who wouldn't be interested in something like that). :) But I guess anywhere pretty would be fine.

2. How long would you like your honeymoon to last?
A week.

3. When would you like to leave for your Honeymoon?
I would stay in a local hotel for the wedding night and leave for the honeymoon the next day. There is no way I'm getting on a plane before I'm married in the Biblical sense. ;)

Miscellaneous

1. What colors have you considered for your wedding (if any)?

I really don't know because I have to pick something that looks good on Kathy, Em, and my sister. I really like yellow, but I'm the only one of us who can wear yellow. But I also like the sage green that Jessica mentioned. That might be nice.

2. How formally would you like the wedding party and guests to dress?
About the same as we did at MaryElaine and Royce's wedding. I wouldn't want black tie or anything really formal.

3. What time of year would you like your wedding?
Springtime (April, preferably) would be nice. I also have a thing about July 7th, :) but it would be so hot.

4. What time of day would you like your wedding?
1 or 2 in the afternoon.

5. What size of wedding would you prefer?
My wedding party will be Kathy, Em, and my sister. :) I don't really believe in twelve-bridesmaid weddings. But there are a million people I would want to invite.

That was fun. :)
