Brenda's journal - now with Visual Aids!
Dec. 16th, 2002 10:30 amHello everyone!
This weekend was mostly good, but it didn't start out that way. On Friday, I went home at 2 because I was suddenly struck down with intense abdominal pain. :P I tried to wait for my boss to get back from lunch so I could ask her if it was okay for me to leave, but she was gone a very long time and I ended up leaving her a note. I worried all night that she would be mad. Apparently she is kind of miffed, so I'm unhappy about that. Anyway, I spent Friday night lying feebly around the apartment, watching Ghost and taking pictures of the cat.
By Saturday morning, I felt somewhat better. I went to Breakfast with Santa at Kathy's church. Kathy and Daniel, Jamie and Billy, and Ryan were there, and we spent a couple of happy hours coloring various Christmasy things. We got our picture taken with Santa, and I even won a door prize! Then I shopped for Christmas presents all afternoon. Afterward, I came to my parents' empty house to find Bun sitting calmly in the middle of the living room. He had escaped his cage while my family was gone. Houdini Bun has returned! :) When they got home, we went to the Christmas program at their church. They had a live Nativity with a real baby laying in the manger. It was adorable. My sister did a great job with her signing (I tried to get a picture of her, but the battery died). After the show, I spent some time at the house and wrapped some presents.
On Sunday, I went to Chili's twice. :P We went there for lunch after church. Then, everyone who hadn't gone to morning service came to the Christmas program, and afterward they all wanted to go there for dinner. I protested, but ended up going along and not eating anything. Anyway, our Christmas program was amazing. Our music minister is one of the most talented people I've ever met. He can play practically every instrument, and he composes constantly. For the finale, he did a big-band version of a 1500s Christmas lullaby. :) Also on the program were the Mountain Men, our bluegrass ensemble that plays on special occasions. They were wonderful. I love my church.
I also took several mirror pictures, all of which clearly say, "I do not have a freakin' clue what I'm doing." :)
