Hello all. We have nice weather today. It's like a Miami sky- blue and sunny with small storm clouds everywhere. I feel at home. :) I went to get a salad for lunch, and then I wished I could just drive around for a while, but I didn't have anywhere to go (for once).

While I was in the car, I had a fun idea. In addition to the scrapbook, I want to make my sister a graduation CD. I already know a few songs that I want to put on it, but I need more ideas from all of you. Did you have any special "graduation songs"? And please don't say Place In This World, because that's a given. :)

I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I laugh out loud at their songs, because their lyrics are usually total nonsense- but they all rhyme beautifully. Speaking of rhyme, I got two letters from poetry.com last week, informing me that two of my poems have been accepted into an anthology. However, I'm pretty sure they "accept" anyone who posts on their site, since the whole point is to get you to buy the $60.00 book. I was all excited until I figured that out.

Only one week until X-Men 2! I'm going to see if my friends want to see it at the new theater nearby (the one where my mom wants me to cruise for guys). :P And only three more weeks until The Matrix Reloaded! I'm so excited.

I have no plans tonight. I think I'm going to take a walk and then rent a movie to watch while I work on the scrapbook (if I can overcome my scrapper's block). Unless Ryan calls with a better idea, in which case the plans go out the window.

What about a CD with songs that are significant to the two of you and growing up? Or a CD with songs that were popular during her high school years? Or maybe you've already done those. :) The grad songs idea is good, too, but so many of them tend to be kind of cheesy (my sister's was One Moment in Time).

I want to come scrapbook with you! That sounds so fun. I would like to get more into that and invite friends over to do it. I'll have to start that if I can think of a cheaper way to do it.

There are cheap ways to scrapbook. I hardly ever buy papers and things full price. I watch for the sales, and then I buy a TON of stuff. :) And the new scrapbook store near me has a whole rack of decent papers 10 for a dollar, which has put me beside myself with happiness. :)

I don't think the growing-up songs thing would work as well. I know most grad songs are cheesy, but neither of us mind cheesiness. :)

See, we don't have a scrapbook store, I don't think. I should look more. The stuff I find is at Target.

You are a thoughtful sister! I have ideas but rarely follow through on them because I get so lazy. The other day I was showing Jonathan this picture I started for Dawn and Domonik when they got married 6 years ago. It was supposed to be their wedding present, but I drew Domonik and I didn't think it looked like him so I got discouraged and didn't finish the Dawn part of it. :) I'm lazy and restless.

Gosh, no wonder. Target's scrapping stuff is not cheap. Well, any craft store should have scrapbook stuff. I usually go to Michaels and Hobby Lobby. And the new "scrapbook store" is actually a new section of a teachers' supply store. :)

Thanks. :) I think drawing something is way cooler than just making a scrapbook. You should finish it. I bet they'd still like it.

I wish you and Danielle could come over tonight and we could have (as Grace from Will & Grace would say) a "big old-fashioned" scrapbook party. :)

haha.. I actually watched Will and Grace last night even though I'm trying to quit (I feel they push the envelope too much and it's quite nasty sometimes). Madonna's part was hilarious, and that whole scene about the big old-fashioned folding party was funny. I'm totally going to use that more often with chores. :)

Yeah, I usually don't watch it for that reason, but the previews looked really funny. It was a hilarious episode. I need to approach chores that way, too. I think it would really help me to stop feeling so angry when I'm washing my 37th dish of the day. :) Party music makes anything a party, I guess. :)

Hey, right now I'm having a big old-fashioned registration party at my desk. I need to put on some Funky Cold Medina (wasn't that what they had playing?).

I think that you should get Debs a copy of 'Oh, the Places You'll Go' by Doctor Suess. That would be perfect from you to her. :)

I love that idea! Thank you! Ooo, now I have a plan. First she'll open the CD, and then the book, and then the scrapbook. It'll be so exciting. And now I have to stop having ideas, because I also have to buy for her birthday, Mother's Day, and Jamie's graduation, and I might be out on the street soon. :)

How about "School's Out" by Alice Cooper? Or "Graduate" by Third Eye Blind? "Be True to your school" by Beach Boys? ;)>

Oh I thought of a graduation song that I used to like: This is the Day (I can't think of who sings it!) from Growing Pains. :) I had this tape of songs on Growing Pains and other shows and I loved that song. Also, summery songs are fun like Summer Vacation by the Party. Yay! Now I'm in the mood to make me a "school's out" CD

Oh, I'm planning to make a Summer Driving Songs CD for our trip. :) Although with all the CDs I'm planning to make now, I might not get around to it. :P
