Yesterday I finished an incredible book, Francine Rivers's The Atonement Child. This book really challenged me and showed me how much I rely on other Christians' advice instead of God's Word. The first half of the book was 100% depressing, but then I couldn't put it down. After reading it, I am especially grateful for people like Shelley, who are willing to help troubled women and encourage them to make right choices. Shelley, I salute you. :)

Lawson and Ryan with their stadium Vanilla Cokes, at the fancy Capriccio restaurant.

Me enjoying tiramisu, my favorite dessert. (This one was okay. I've had better.)

I thought my little rosebush was dead, but it put out these four beautiful blooms. :)

That picture shows my attempt at recovering from being clean-shaven. :P I'm all scraggly now, but it won't take long to have a normal beard... ;)

P.S. = Shouldn't the picture be called vanillacokeMEN???

Not enough sun, too much money, wretched starbuck's coffee.

Oh, the sun's fine, but the money part's true (we're not so snooty that way down here), and the coffee? Well, I agree with you, or at least used to, before I gave in. You get used to it, though, since there are literally three coffee shops a block all throughout the Puget Sound. One yearns for consistency, and aspiring individual coffee shacks just don't cut it, so you put up with burnt beans for the blessing of not being surprised (often miserably) by your cuppa joe. *shrug* Yay for private roasters, but they're just not everywhere yet.

Dunkin Donuts coffee is much better than starbuck's even if it not a snooty varietal.
we have some really nice coffee places here in Philadelphia.

Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts also. I haven't had any in several months, though! I'm craving it.

I love that Francine Rivers book. I think it's probably one of my all-time favorite novels. When I first found it, I couldn't put it down either. :) It's really powerful.

(hope you're having a happyful monday :))
