I feel very Broadway today. There's something theatrical about my outfit, though I'm not sure what it is...maybe the shoes. I felt compelled to sing and fake-tap-dance around the apartment this morning. I also decided that this song ought to be in a musical. Sarah Harmer rocks.

I had a very refreshing evening yesterday. I went to Harbor Town to water Nina's plants, and then spent over an hour at a park next to the Mississippi River. You can go right down to the river there. You could even go in the river, if you were crazy. I sat on some rocks and read psalms and looked at the water, and felt great by the time I left. I think if I went to that park more often, I would feel less homesick for the ocean. After that, I went to the new Summer Study at the Ugly Mug. It was packed. I felt like I was at an RUF reunion...there were people I hadn't seen in about six months. It made me so happy to see everyone together again, and to hear good teaching, and especially to sing with everyone. I've missed that so much. I love being a child of God, and I love being Presbyterian. I can't imagine being anything else. :)

As if all that weren't enough, I got a surprise package from Kathy full of Miami Dolphins merchandise. My Dolphins tumbler broke months ago, and I was really sad about it, so Kathy went to buy me a new glass and found a bunch of other stuff. I love my new glass. It has the Dolphins logo in the bottom. I thought it would also be fun to have a glass with Dan Marino's head in the bottom, so he could watch you drink. We decided this would be a good item for beer mugs, so Dan could cheer on the chugging at frat parties. LOL.

I talked with my dad about the job and I feel much better. I'm probably going to go for it.

Looking to the south, with the famous Memphis bridge.

Looking to the north.

Oh, and here's a picture from last weekend when I was in a traffic jam. It's a great testament to the superior intellect of Memphians.

Is this the admin assistant job, or the other one that the lady mentioned? Glad to hear you're feeling better about it, whichever it is. ;)

The admin job. My dad made a good point about it. I'll tell you at lunch. (If I get there on time, which I might not because it's 11:00 and we don't know when our call is. :P)

Thanks for posting pictures! That's such a nice place, and how far away did you say it was? It seems like all lakes are a long drive from me.

Definitely go for the job. If it's not right, God will stop you from getting it somehow.

Thanks. I think it's 10 miles or so from the apartment. Not a journey I could make every day, but I might start going a few times a month or something.

Yep, I think so too. :)

I like the filename for your Dolphins merchandise picture. "Dolfan." Nice touch. (-:

I lived biking-distance to a river that looks almost exactly like that one back in WA. Except for the bridge shot (our bridge is even similar, but shaped differently), those could have all been taken there. I used to ride down there to read or hang out with friends or just get out of the house. I miss it! You're lucky.

Maybe they were all taken there. Did you ever think of that?

Um, no, I can't really say that I did. Brenda, do you have something to tell me?

Haha... I can confirm that was Memphis. Perhaps you just thought you were in WA at the time. :)

Darn. You got me. I didn't want to admit that I had suddenly inherited a million dollars and so I could afford to fly to WA at the drop of a hat and visit your river.

Thanks! That's what we're called, though. Dolfans. It's a name as old as time (or the NFL). I didn't make it up. :)

Yes. It's a very nice place. I wish I had discovered it earlier. Which river is this, that can rival the mighty Mississippi? :)

It is the mighty Columbia, although the Yakima and Snake rivers also go through that area. I took a few pictures of it before I left but now I can only find one of them on my computer.

Thank you, I'm glad someone else appreciated it! I sure thought it was hilarious. :)

No Captain D's? Do you at least have Long John Silver's or something?

I'm glad you're back! I've missed you the last few days. :)

We do have Long John Silver's......but it's not the same. (People over here just dunno how to make GREAT hushpuppies!).

Hehe, thanks! I missed reading about everyone, too. ;D I have a feeling that until July 2 I won't have much comp time during the week. Oh well. *sigh*
