My brother had to go back to the eye doctor today because he was seeing "flashes of light." Something is wrong with his retina and he now has a 60/40 chance (60 being the good side) of losing his sight in that eye. If you guys could say a prayer for him, I would appreciate it more than you know. Thank you.

I recall an eye injury I had about 13 or 14 years ago where I experienced a gold-colored flashing sensation every time I blinked or looked a certain way. The injury was a result of having a racquetball driven point-blank into my eye at a hundred miles per hour by a friend welding a mean racquet. The doctor said that my vision should be ok, and the flashing sensation dissipated after a few days and I've had no problems since. It was a weird a scary sensation at the time, tho!

Yeah- you must have had the same thing he has! The injury was on his actual eye, not near his pupil or anything; but the eye doctor explained that the interior of the eye is like Jello, and when the Jello gets disturbed, it causes stress on the other parts of the eye. So that's why this is happening.

I could throttle that kid who poked him with the drumstick.

No, it was really both their faults. His friend was poking him with the drumstick, and he held it out, and Kevin lunged at it. Not smart on either of their parts, but this kid is generally bad news anyway, so I'm more inclined to be irritated at him. :P

Oh yes, I'll pray. I had that happen once, I thought my retna was detaching. It was scary. I was lucky though, the eye doctor said it was a "silent migrane" (meaning I had no pain).
