The Peeps bunnies have had their revenge!

Went to Saviori last night as usual. It was beneficial, as usual. We are in James 2: faith and deeds. I had never noticed the parallels between that passage and Hebrews 11. We also learned that anything we don't do by faith is sin (Romans 14:23). That was something I had never thought about. I am going to start making sure I tie my shoes to the glory of God. :) lol.

I am still exhausted. It's been almost a week since Up 'Til Dawn and I have gotten tons of sleep, but I just can't seem to catch up. I feel like I could sleep through the weekend and it wouldn't help anything. Maybe I need more vitamins.

I read this last night during my quiet time:

2 Corinthians 4
1 Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.

2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.

6 For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," [1] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

I find it interesting in v4 that it says the "god of this age" (considered my most commentary writers to be the devil) has "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they CANNOT see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ". This revelation doesn't make me presbyterian (hehe), but in fact confirms the official Baptist stance that God chose us (although you don't hear that in too many churches anymore.) So, it should become evident that had God not allowed us to see the glory of Christ, the whole salvation experience would be impossible.

BTW, for completeness, that above passage is right after Paul compares the Law to the Gospel. He said that the Law veiled men's eyes, but the Gospel removed the covering allowing them to see the true glory of God.

ALSO, the bunny thing was funny... very funny.

Yes.. check it out: http://www.bpnews.net/printerfriendly.asp?ID=2662

The guy that is making the points is/was the president of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1998. It's a very interesting read, but the paragraph structure makes it a little bit hard to read (it was probably taken straight from plaintext.)

Also, check this out from the SBC homepage for easy-to-read official statements on 9 different issues: http://sbc.net/default.asp?url=position-statements.html
