what you got, what you always wanted
Jun. 18th, 2003 03:06 pmI spent my lunch hour today helping Nina take canned goods to Hope House, one of the charities my company sponsors. I'm so glad I went. One of the ladies in charge showed us around and told us the stories of some of the children there. They were so heartbreaking. I can't imagine the pain that those kids and their parents have been through- there was such hardship everywhere. I have been so blessed.
Only three days are left until Order of the Phoenix, and I am so excited. But I would like to post this warning: I am completely spoiler-free. I haven't listened to the audio excerpt or read the summary from Scholastic. I know nothing. This has taken enormous willpower. So please, fellow Potterheads, honor my sacrifice and use the cut tag when talking about the book. I pre-ordered my copy from Amazon.uk, so I have no idea when it will arrive. I'm terrified that I'll be in line at Kroger or something on Sunday, and some ill-thinking person will start talking about the book and completely ruin it for me. Kathy suggested we cloister ourselves for the weekend, but that's not possible. (Too bad- I could use some rest.)
from usatoday.com:
"Not content with his celebrity status on the Quidditch field, Harry adds cork to his broomstick to increase airspeed. A crashing Bludger reveals the deception, scattering Nimbus 2004 pieces along with bits of cork across the field. While Dumbledore, as usual, attempts to soften the punishment and provide Harry with special treatment, ultimate Quidditch authority Madame Hooch throws the book at the young Gryffindor. By the time his suspension lifts, Harry is disheartened to discover that Slytherin has won the season's cup, that Ron has suffered a fatal case of monkeypox, and that Hermione is now starring in her own reality television series, For Love or Malfoy."
