Kathy and I had the most amazing dinner last night. I bought this box of Zatarain's scampi pasta mix a while ago, and while home for lunch yesterday, I left it out on the counter with a post-it for Kathy, requesting it for dinner. When I got home we went to Kroger and bought shrimp, parmesan breadsticks, and a quart of Sonic Cherry Limeade Sherbet! It was a feast, and it wasn't even that bad for us. We ate all of the shrimp and pasta by ourselves. :) Even better, MaryElaine dropped by and we talked about Harry Potter and Wheel of Time while we ate. Happy happy, joy joy.

Tonight a bunch of us are going to see Terminator 3. I'm excited.

It's really kind of shameful that I am so much happier on Fridays than any other day of the week. I ought to be taking more joy in my work. More proof that I am a sinful, lazy, pleasure-seeking bum.

This article makes me want to cry. Now brown is a questionable color? If my "business environment" adhered to these rules, I probably would have quit a long time ago and run off to Jamaica or something where people can wear any color they want.

1. Do you remember your first best friend? Who was it?
I had two best friends when I lived in Miami- Kristi and Christie. :) Kristi and I met in kindergarten. We always went to each other's parties and stuff, but we weren't really close until third or fourth grade. During my last year in Miami we went to the beach together every weekend. We also liked to make lemonade stands and yell threats at the cars that didn't stop to buy. :) Christie is technically my oldest friend, because we went to preschool together, but we didn't become friends until second grade when we met again at "gifted" school. We were obsessed with the Baby-Sitters Club and the Ramona Quimby books and would spend recess pretending to be Ramona. Every Monday, Christie would come over to play and my mom would take us to get Slurpees on the way home.

2. Are you still in touch with this person?
I finally lost touch with Kristi a few months ago, when I sent her Christmas card and it came back to me. :( I'm still sort of in touch with Christie, but she hasn't returned any letters or e-mails in a while.

3. Do you have a current close friend?
Duh. :) I have Kathy, of course, and Em, even though she's far away now, and MaryElaine. This is the best-friend quadrangle. I also consider a few of you on LJ to be close friends. You know who you are. I'm so thankful to have "met" all of you. I used to think people who made friends online were crazy. Now I am happy to be one of the crazies.

4. How did you become friends with this person?
I've told this story before, but here it is for the newbies: Kathy and I were suitemates in the dorm in our first semester of college, six years ago. Both of our roommates were party girls who brought home different guys every week. We were both miserable. After two months, we finally got the courage to say to each other, "Hey. This sucks. Do you want to move in together?" So we did. :) We met Emily in the cafeteria, since we were all on the meal plan that first semester, and became friends with her quickly. She was in a similar situation, so after some maneuvering, she moved into a suite with us our sophomore year. The rest is history. :)

5. Is there a friend from your past that you wish you were still in contact with? Why?
I was best friends with a girl named Carissa in seventh grade. She moved to Ohio, and within a year we'd lost touch with each other. She was a really fun, cool girl and I've always wondered how she's doing.

I hate those types of articles that make commentary on fashion. I think they are more focused on big city people in high corporate jobs. I hardly EVER wear pantyhose, and especially not in the summer.

My wish came true: I emailed you about posting and when I came back to LJ you had!

I always wonder where people got the idea for pantyhose. It seems pretty stupid. "Hey, let's make women encase their legs in sheer fabric, like sausages."

I know, isn't shaving and applying moisturizer enough? Why are women held to this high standard of having "perfect" skin and smoothness, while men aren't?

Grr.

Yeah. I don't see what's so unconventional about it. I think Jessica's right, though, this is probably more for big cities. Hardly anyone at my company dresses like that. Personally, I think it's good to have a little personality. The business attire attitude makes me angry. "Rule 1: Always look like you're going to a funeral." :P

I had every Ramona book, and all the Henry and Beezus and Otis books, too. And what was the mouse's name? Ralph?

Anyhow, I had every Beverly Cleary book when I was younger. And I read all the Babysitter's Club books too.

Wow. Good times.

Yeah! Ralph! And Ellen Tebbits, the ballet girl. :) I have those, too. Fun!

Who was your favorite baby-sitter? I liked Stacey because she was fun and more mature than the others, and Claudia because she was artistic.

That is NOT how you met me!!!!!!! I am so offended! (not really :)) You and I met walking to some honors thing or something our freshmen year and became better friends through the whole Mike-Kerry-Sean gang. But at any rate, I wasn't on the meal plan.
