thankfulness

You guys are awesome. I came in today expecting a pretty typical day, and then I saw my Birthday Snap Cup. I can't tell you how happy that made me! I'm so touched. Thank you all so much! You are wonderful and you're blessings to me in your own unique ways. I am so happy to know you all and I hope someday I can be as great as you guys think I am. :) My cup runneth over.
To add to the excitement, I also got cool postcards yesterday from Jonathan and Jenn! Two postcards in one day! I mean, when does that ever happen? Thanks, guys. :)
Tonight we're having a big Build Brenda's Computer night at my parents' house. The guys are coming over to help my dad and his techie friend, and we're going to order pizza. It's going to be a fun, relaxing time. I'm looking forward to it. We have decided to give my old computer to my grandmother; my parents just gave their old computer to her, but she's having trouble with it, so maybe mine will be more straightforward.
I am very glad to hear that our Northeasterners are okay. What a crazy situation. My dad is angry and refuses to watch the coverage. "Did their cities get destroyed? Did they have people dying and power lines down all over the place? No! They just lost power!" He has a point. This morning I watched Katie Couric interview a power company official, asking, "So do you think the power will come back on today?" I hope all the other Memphians watching got as big a laugh out of that as I did.

Date: 2003-08-15 10:04 am (UTC)I'm glad you liked the Snap Cup! It was fun to make. :) Haha.. I just realized that the way I said that sounds almost like I wrote all the comments and assigned random names to them. Wouldn't that be so sad and hilarious if I did that? hahaha.. trust me, no one needed help.

Date: 2003-08-15 06:04 pm (UTC)Ok, so, I was part of the whole blackout thing, but my power is back on now. yay! The problem isn't directly electricity anymore, but here in Cleveland we don't have any clean water because the water pumps and sewage pumps failed when they lost electricity. You can read about it in my latest entry and comments if ya wanna know more. I do think it's bad when you gotta use bottled water to brush your teeth and you can't shower for days. heh. but probably not as bad as having the wind blow trees on your house.
