:D

You guys are awesome. I came in today expecting a pretty typical day, and then I saw my Birthday Snap Cup. I can't tell you how happy that made me! I'm so touched. Thank you all so much! You are wonderful and you're blessings to me in your own unique ways. I am so happy to know you all and I hope someday I can be as great as you guys think I am. :) My cup runneth over.

To add to the excitement, I also got cool postcards yesterday from Jonathan and Jenn! Two postcards in one day! I mean, when does that ever happen? Thanks, guys. :)

Tonight we're having a big Build Brenda's Computer night at my parents' house. The guys are coming over to help my dad and his techie friend, and we're going to order pizza. It's going to be a fun, relaxing time. I'm looking forward to it. We have decided to give my old computer to my grandmother; my parents just gave their old computer to her, but she's having trouble with it, so maybe mine will be more straightforward.

I am very glad to hear that our Northeasterners are okay. What a crazy situation. My dad is angry and refuses to watch the coverage. "Did their cities get destroyed? Did they have people dying and power lines down all over the place? No! They just lost power!" He has a point. This morning I watched Katie Couric interview a power company official, asking, "So do you think the power will come back on today?" I hope all the other Memphians watching got as big a laugh out of that as I did.

Your computer night sounds so fun! It seems like some of the simplest ingredients can make times really the best: friends, pizza, and Friday evening. I think I'll do the same thing...someone, quick, buy me a computer and have it to my parents' house by tonight! And order pizza!

I'm glad you liked the Snap Cup! It was fun to make. :) Haha.. I just realized that the way I said that sounds almost like I wrote all the comments and assigned random names to them. Wouldn't that be so sad and hilarious if I did that? hahaha.. trust me, no one needed help.

LOL. If I had a million dollars, I'd have a computer sent to your parents' house. (Or I would buy you a house {I would buy you a house}.)

Thank you so much for doing that. I am thankful for you every day (Philippians 1:3). :)

Happy berfday to Brenda!

Yeah... my reaction exactly. But with the whole NYC without power... that could be a lot more dangerous than it seems. Memphis is big, but NYC is enourmous.

Yeah. I know. Still annoying, though.

Hey, I'm playing Sunday, so hopefully I'll see you! Oh wait...oh my gosh, that was what I forgot to do last night. Practice my music. Auugh! Well, hopefully the other flutes will drown me out. :)

Thanks! It's actually tomorrow, but I rarely get online on weekends, so I guess everyone decided to celebrate today. It's been a happy surprise. :)

I'm with your dad. It's annoying all over again that Memphis didnt' get any coverage at all when our entire city was down for nearly a week.. NYC was up gain in a few hours.

Actually, tell your papa it was a very serious walking-on-egg-shells situation. People were caught in hot stuffy elevators (one lady was in one for 18 hours!), people on the subway underground were stuck for hours, and they said it was around 97 degrees down there. Traffic lights were out everywhere, and so many drivers were being extremely idiotic and nearly caused accidents at every turn (especially around here), and with no one having fans or air conditioning in the hot weather, and many around here also didn't have water, and many of them elderly, NOT good. Very serious. Not to mention the looting that could have taken place, and DID take place at a store not too far from me - cops and shootouts man.

So yeah, you bet your cookies we deserve our coverage! lol

Happy birthday! =)

Ok, so, I was part of the whole blackout thing, but my power is back on now. yay! The problem isn't directly electricity anymore, but here in Cleveland we don't have any clean water because the water pumps and sewage pumps failed when they lost electricity. You can read about it in my latest entry and comments if ya wanna know more. I do think it's bad when you gotta use bottled water to brush your teeth and you can't shower for days. heh. but probably not as bad as having the wind blow trees on your house.
