Everyone should go buy the new issue of Elle, which has a major story about Clay, complete with stunning photos. I'm getting my copy on the way home. That darn Clay is turning me into a magazine-buying fool. :)

Last night I went to sleep at 9:30. I hadn't done that in a couple of years. I had a bad headache and was extremely tired. Today, I feel more refreshed than usual, so maybe I should make an occasional practice of it. In the night I accidentally kicked something at the foot of my bed. Then I felt tiny teeth biting my foot, realized it was Gandalf, and went back to sleep.

What are some songs that always cheer you up (for one reason or another)? I thought of that topic over the weekend.
1. Stacy's Mom - Fountains of Wayne So wrong, yet so hilarious.
2. Say It Ain't So - Weezer Actually, every Weezer song cheers me up, but this is my favorite. It's one of the greatest songs ever recorded, IMHO. And I like the harmony.
3. Harder to Breathe - Maroon 5 Come on, this is just a fun song. Though I just found out that Evan and Ryan hate it. What's up with that?
4. Come On Over - Christina Aguilera A release for my flirty side. And a much better choice than Shania Twain's "Man, I Feel Like A Woman," which I have unfortunately sung along with, enthusiastically, several times.
5. Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers It brings back my few happy memories of middle school; plus I have to sing weirdly and dramatically to sound like him, which I can't do without laughing.
6. Dive - Steven Curtis Chapman This song always reminds me of our RUF trip to Tallahassee in 2001. We went to a place called Wakulla Springs where you jump off platforms into the water. Evan and I were too afraid to jump off the high one, so we just stood up there and watched the local pre-teens leap off happily. :) It's a great song and a happy memory.
7. Love Is A Verb - dC Talk Another song I loved in middle school.
8. What's My Name? - Snoop Doggy Dogg Wow, this is an eclectic list. Anyway, this is my favorite rap song of all time and I have no idea why.
9. Ice Cream - Sarah McLachlan One of the happiest love songs I know.
10. Save Me - Hanson Yeah, I like Hanson. Be quiet. :) This song cracks me up with its extreme melodrama. Also, I like the way Taylor sounds at the beginning of the song, so I often start it over several times before letting it run.

Gosh, that took two hours because people kept bringing me work.

If I leave my bedroom door open while I"m sleeping, my cat likes to come in and climb around the iron foot board like it's a set of monkey bars... she's silly... :)>

Oh, Gandalf does that with our high stool in the kitchen. He climbs the rungs and hangs upside down. :)

lol, "Stacy's Mom" is definitely a fun one :)

I have a bunch of songs that cheer me up, but some off the top of my head (because I've been listening to them lately :)) are:

"crazy for this girl" Evan & Jaron

"breathless" the Corrs

"you're the one that I want" from Grease

and

"the remedy" Jason Mraz

I made my list before I let myself look at yours so as not to be influenced. And alas, I did change one of them after looking at yours because my last one was by LFO and I like Weezer better!!!! Thanks for reminding me. :-P

Kiss Me by Six Pence None the Richer
Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison
What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong (anything by Louis Armstrong makes me happy!)
I’m in the Mood for Love by Louis Armstrong
Georgia by Ray Charles
O-Bla-Dee O-Bla-Da by the Beatles
Carrying Cathy by Ben Folds
Going the Distance by Cake
Cathedrals by Jump Little Children
The Sweater Song by Weezer

1. DMB - So Much to Say
2. Evan & Jaron - Crazy for This Girl
3. Ginny Owens - Free
4. Counting Crows - American Girls
5. Simple Plan - Addicted (which absolutely makes no sense, but it makes me laugh, and it's so wrong)
6. Counting Crows & Vanessa Carleton - Big Yellow Taxi
7. Fiona Apple - Nothing's Gonna Change My World
8. Michelle Branch - You Set Me Free
9. Nickel Creek - Should've Known Better (again, why would this make me happy? but it does)
10. Natalie Merchant & 1000 Maniacs - These Are the Days

::looks at your list::
Oh, "Stacy's Mom" is waay, waaaaay too funny. And waaay too wrong. But it's so funny!

I love "Ice Cream". That would have made my list if I hadn't seen it up on the top of my monitor.

I wondered who sang "Harder to Breathe". Now I know.

Cool, cool cool.

I like those too. Especially 3 and 8.

Oh, but don't waste your money on the Maroon 5 CD. That's the only great song on it. I was very disappointed.

Now I've got it stuck in my head. ;-) Makes me laugh, too.

Yep, yep, and yep! LOL.

Ok, I'll play....

Lovely Rita - the Beetles
Chains of Love - Erasure (I think, maybe wrong)
The Look - Roxette
Head Over Heels - Tears for Fears
Sowing the Seeds of Love - Tear for Fears
Mysterious Ways - U2
That's all I've got for now - most of my stuff is recent Gary Numan, which is dark and brooding and stuff :)

Oh, I suppose I can be thematic and add "Mona Lisa Overdrive" from the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack... :) Not a cheerful song but great chased-by-evil music. :)-

Your choices are much...nicer than mine. :)

I like Only Hope, too. I need to get that CD. And Crossroads- awesome song! That takes me back. :) I remember people singing that on my school bus.

That darn Clay is turning me into a magazine-buying fool. :)

Hehe, I can relate (though Clay doesn't really do it for me ;-))... I've even sunk to cutting photos out of the magazines before I throw them away.

Songs that cheer me up - randomly selected:
