it's all a dream till you figure it out

Happy birthday,
greenhornet! Thanks for blessing us with your insightful thoughts. I hope you have a great day!
Today it looks like fall, but it doesn't feel like it. Do you know what I mean? We usually don't get real fall weather until the end of the month, anyway, but I still wish it would come now. I'm glad God made seasons- that was really smart of Him. I like the median seasons better. I get sick of the extreme ones very fast. I used to wonder if we'd get bored in heaven without any seasons, but I don't guess we'll care, there. :)
My leg hurts, the way it sometimes does when I wear bad shoes. It started last night. Usually it goes away while I sleep, but today it's even worse. I'm not sure what that's about. I'm sure you really profited from hearing about it, though.
Who saw the Friends recap after last night's show? They had a five-minute final-season intro, I guess you'd call it, showing the highlights from all the characters over the course of the series. It was the best summary of nine years that they could have possibly done. To my own shame, I got pretty emotional over it, but then I found out Jessica was too, so I felt better. :)
1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? If not, what's changed?
It's the same.
2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be?
I hated my name when I was younger because no one else was named Brenda. Now I kind of like that. I'm still not all that fond of my name, but I'm used to it. My middle name is Emily, and I like that name a lot. And my last name is okay, but hopefully it'll change someday. :)
3. Why were you named what you were? Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?
My parents just liked the name. I think they decided on it together. However, before that, my mother wanted to name me Cherilyn (though I'm not sure if that's how she would have spelled it), and my dad wanted to name me Emylynne after my two grandmothers (but then they just stuck with the Emily part for my middle name). I think I came out on the good end of that deal.
4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?
I've talked about this before, but I never get tired of it. I love the name Hannah, but it's becoming way too popular for me to use it in good conscience. I also like Natalie, April, Julie, and a bunch of others I can't think of right now. For boys I like the typical Biblical names- Matthew, Joshua, Nathan. I'd have to do some brainstorming on that one.
5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com / triggur.org / astroexpert accurate? How or how isn't it?
Well, here's my Kabalarians one; you can judge for yourself.
Your name of Brenda gives you a strong sense of responsibility in business and material affairs, and the practicality and determination to make a success of anything you undertake. You are self-sufficient and capable, and have an interest in positions of leadership and responsibility. You are competent in directing the efforts of others, as you have good business judgment and the natural understanding of people. Very likely you have assumed much responsibility early in life and are often required to make major decisions. You appreciate settled, accumulative conditions, and a high standard of living. You have a strong, determined nature and tend to dominate others, and to interfere, at times, in your desire to be helpful. This name gives you many good characteristics, but it is too strong, creating a materialistic nature and bringing out a forceful, demanding quality.
I don't think that's very accurate. I'm not a demanding leader type.
I'm insanely happy today for reasons I cannot yet reveal to the general public.

Date: 2003-09-12 11:22 am (UTC)The friends recap...I wonder if it's the same one they've been showing at the movie theaters...(like as previews) if so, I did get emotional...and I imagine it is the same thing.

I didn't see Friends, but I did see the recap. All I could think was, awww . . . and I almost never watch the show! (I've seen enough reruns, though . . .)
I watch it for the hair. ;)

Date: 2003-09-12 01:28 pm (UTC)Yer in the northern hemisphere with me, right?
Imagine being in the southern hemisphere.
We've got it easy. We hit winter during our closest approach to the sun, and summer during the farthest point of the orbit. They hit summer and winter at the opposite points, of course. How...horrible.

I don't suppose I've mentioned that one of my nicknames half my life ago was "Mr. Innuendo."
You had best reveal it soon or I will begin thinking despicable things!
Oops...too late...
Curious curious curiosityyyyyyyyy!
