chestnutcurls: (happy couple)

It's a pretty, if unseasonably warm, day. I'm glad it's almost the weekend. The play last night with Yolanda was nice, but getting her home was a big adventure. The interstate exit to her house has ceased to exist. I was about to turn there when I saw it was blocked off by cones and a Road Closed sign. Thanks for the warning, Tennessee Department of Safety. :P I was so disoriented that I had to pull onto the shoulder, where I was still almost hit by two passing eighteen-wheelers. When I finally got back on the road, I went to the next exit intending to turn around, but it turned out to be another highway which took me another five or so miles in the wrong direction. Thankfully I was able to get off and find my way back, but I was pretty shaken up. In the midst of it I was thinking, "This is almost like a Shana story." :)

Happy Things for today: my hair is (partly) red again, I have McAlister's tea, Debra's coming home this weekend, and Evan is the most wonderful and sweet boyfriend in the world. Oh, and most of all, my dad is getting baptized this weekend! :D He decided a few weeks ago that he wanted to take the plunge. I'm so thankful. God is good.

I had lunch with Alli today and she told me about some guy trouble. Then she said, "I'm so glad you and Evan are together. You were best friends and then you took the next step. That's just the way things are supposed to be." I was like, "Thanks- I never thought it would happen." She said, "Well, it's an inspiration to me, to know that it's possible." :) I was so touched. Even now I'm getting weepy thinking about it. It really humbles and pleases me to think that God is using our relationship to encourage other people. Wow.

On a much lighter note, go look at this because it is the funniest thing ever.

1. List five things you'd like to accomplish by the end of the year.
1. Finish the darn Wheel of Time series. I don't have time to do this, but I just want to be free of it.
2. Lose five pounds. (riiight)
3. Have a better attitude about my work.
4. Finish downloading iTunes on my home computer.
5. Something else I'm not going to talk about. :)

2. List five people you've lost contact with that you'd like to hear from again.
1. Christie, my oldest friend.
2. Kristin, my flute friend all through band. We keep trying to be friends and we always lose touch again.
3. Rosie, a friend from elementary school.
4. Amy, my middle/high-school best friend.
5. Carissa, my other middle-school best friend and one of the coolest people I've ever known. I always wonder what became of her.

3. List five things you'd like to learn how to do.
1. Play violin.
2. Speak French.
3. Develop photos.
4. HTML.
5. Weld. (I'm not kidding.) :)

4. List five things you'd do if you won the lottery (no limit).
1. Give a whole ton of it to Streets and my church.
2. Pay off Em's student loans and Shana's tuition, and buy Lauren and Joe new cars. :)
3. Buy a house.
4. Take a trip to Australia and New Zealand.
5. Get a bunch of fancy scrapbook supplies and start a scrapbooking business.

5. List five things you do that help you relax.
1. Spend time with Evan.
2. Read.
3. Watch Friends.
4. Cuddle with the cat.
5. Take a nap. :)

Hehe... That is a lot like a Shana story... kinda like my almost fruitless search for a Western Union place last night... :P

It always makes me smile when you talk about Evan. You guys have a great story! :)

Well, when I think of friends I wish I could help, you're one of the first to come to mind. :)

LOL...I should have known there would be a new story in response to me mentioning a story. :)

Wow, this is a happy post! Your weekend sounds fun. I'm kind of jealous--I want my sister to come home from college, to have tea, and watch my dad get baptized! :)

I wish that Memphis wasn't so far away. Why can't all of you live within like 7 hours of me instead?

Hi - I'm Heather (one of Rebecca's (rebianaly's) friends) and I read her friends' entries occasionally because they are very interesting! I just wanted to say that I adore McAlister's tea too - I worked in Richmond this summer as an RA for Governor's School for the Arts, and one of our (my fellow RA's and I) treats to ourselves was to go out and get sweet tea from McAlister's. Sadly, there is no McAlister's in Nashville. :-(

Hope you don't mind the random post - have a great weekend!

*Starting a scrapbooking business would be really awesome. I really want to scrap book but I dont know how. I'd like to be a creative memories consultant, mostly for the discount, but I want to learn how to do it first.

*Cuddling with the cat is always fun! How is Gandalf? Galadriel is growing up so fast. She just had her first birthday :) I need to post pictures of her sometime (somehow!) Pippin and Merry are getting along with her really well too.

:D
