Okay, so in three days we've gone from a high of 70 degrees to a high of 34 degrees. The low tonight is 16, which I have not experienced in at least a year. I plan to spend the evening bundled up in a blanket.

This is not the greatest day. I've had a series of annoyances which culminated in me getting mad at Evan over something very dumb. Things are okay now, but I still feel kind of tense. Do you ever have one of those weeks where you're suddenly, irrationally afraid of all the things that could happen to you? Like, out of nowhere, you think "Oh my gosh, what if I had an accident and went blind?" It'll pass. I probably just need to watch less TV. :P Everything I saw last night seemed like a list of ways to suffer- being stranded on a deserted island, your loved one marrying someone else because they thought you were dead, being sneakily murdered by your plastic surgeon's nurse, etc. Well, God's in control, and most of those things should be easy enough to avoid. LOL.

The new Strong Bad e-mail is hilarious. Sorry to those of you who don't like Strong Bad. Hey, that's a good lead-in to the following list, inspired by Jessica's. It was a good stress reliever.

I am not sorry for...

liking my curly hair and not wanting to permanently straighten it
not being hyper-productive in my day-to-day life
not being on the Atkins diet, or any other organized diet, just because everyone else is
having an LJ and online friends
not having a graduate degree (Okay, I am sorry for this, but I shouldn't be.)
going to public schools all my life
being Presbyterian
not waiting till I'm married to kiss
liking pop culture
liking Clay Aiken and Hanson
needing time to myself sometimes
being a neat freak
not being as "mature" and poised as some women my age
not making perfect scrapbooks that look like impersonal museum pieces
being a Harry Potter and LOTR fangirl
being punctual
driving a really small car that other people make fun of

I'm sure there are other things, but that's all that comes to mind right now.

What a cute idea. I should make a list like that. It's weird how you find people harass you about things, but you aren't sorry because they're part of "you" and you don't want to change them. No apologies, dude! :)

I like your new design! :)

The high today was 12 degrees. Wind chill of 5-. Bleh.

Stay off of FedEx planes and don't get an extreme makeover. Don't eat right before you go to bed, it'll give you weird dreams. haha!! ;)

Thanks! Oh my gosh, -5?!?! Stay warm!

Actually I was referring to CSI Miami, but the extreme makeover show freaks me out, too. They go in for one thing and end up like Barbies. Scary.

I'd like an extreme makeover. Lose some extra skin. Spend 3 months getting toned with a personal trainer. Get electrolosys on my eyebrows or something. Not too much stuff. ;)

Barbifer, nah!

I will not apologize for the Strong Bad emails only coming up once a month... since I still haven't seen all of them yet... and I will not apologize for North Texas losing in the New Orleans Bowl... since they won the SunBelt Conference three years in a row!!!

I'm guessing they were just on vacation or something. I mean, they did joke about the fact they hadn't updated.

BTW, I like the new pic sans facial hair (er...that's directed to Lawson, not you, Brenda...since you don't have facial hair to begin with ;o) )

I liked it too. At least they acknowledged the long break... the cobwebs on Compy and all that. (-:

Also: Brenda, small cars rule. I drive one and wouldn't trade it for all the SUVs in the world. (Well, maybe I would, but only so that I could sell the SUVs and get a really nice small car).

Yay for small cars! I mean, you get great mileage, can park almost anywhere, and if your car dies, a few people can carry it to the shoulder of the road. What's not to like? :)

Do you ever have one of those weeks where you're suddenly, irrationally afraid of all the things that could happen to you?

Yes!! Sometimes I start thinking about how people can go from being perfectly normal, healthy people to being quadroplegic's in a wheelchair because of a car accident or fall. I sometimes pray and pray that God will protect me from that. Or I also have fears that my future husband or children will get seriously hurt and my life's work will be tending to them. :( :( Please, no!!! Like that'll be God's way of making me less squeamish about medical stuff.

I like your list!

Oh good, I'm not the only one! I have those same fears. Then I pray that I will never have to go through that, which makes me even more afraid- you know, the way people pray "God, I'll go anywhere but Africa," and God sends them to Africa. :P I think about the caretaking thing, too. At least I feel less alone now. lol.

hahahaha.. yes, God likes us to face our fears, sometimes! I'm afraid of facing my fears! :)

But sometimes I think that if I think of something, it won't happen, because God tends to hand me the unexpected. Haha..as if God's all, "Hm, I think I'll...darnit! She thought of that already! Guess I'll have to come up with a different growing experience."

yeah, everyone at my church thinks I am the most pessimistic person ever...haha, I talk all the time about how we are ruining our environment and about how cancer rates are so high, and I tell people we're all gonna die at 34 of some kind of cancer...I joke around mostly..but I am serious about the environmental stuff. It all ties together.

Yeah, I totally agree about the environment! That's the biggest beef I have with the Republican party. We seriously don't do enough to protect the environment. Yay for saving the earth. :)

Yay!

I don't think my scrapbooks are bad, just a different style from the way people say they should look. Like, one photo and a million "accents" on each page. To me that makes it more about scrapbooking than about the photo, and the photo should be the point. It's all about different scrapping philosophy. :)

Oh, I am so glad to know I'm not a freak for getting obsessed by all the things that can happen. It always happens when I'm feeling really happy, too. Like I'll be there in bed, thinking, "Oh, my gosh, I am so happy, and my husband is so wonderful, and I love our house, and we have such awesome friends." And then POW! I start thinking, "Oh, my goodness, what if Chris is in a horrible accident tomorrow and he dies and how am I going to tell the kids and I'll have to go live with my in-laws..." and before you know it I have this whole litany of how horrible my life is going to be. I have even been so paranoid that I think, "Whoa, maybe I shouldn't think really good thoughts in case that's like a signal for bad things to happen." Sheesh. I am so lame sometimes.

Eep! Three responses to one comment! But here's the story of how you are indirectly responsible for my two almost-spit-takes: First, I add you to my friends list. Then, I think, you know, not a bad idea to read through your info; I follow the link to Evan's lj, read back to his first post, and almost spray coffee on the computer (as noted in my comment to said post). After I recover, I think, "Hey, I really need to see the Strongbad E-mail," because I love them but I keep forgetting to surf over there. So at your indirect instigation, I see the new Strongbad E-mail and almost lose my coffee again. Having you on my friends list my be dangerous!
