So as [livejournal.com profile] aardwolf referenced, I went to Goat Days on Saturday. It was quite an experience. (As Kathy said, "Once you hear about a goat festival, you've pretty much got to go." :)) Ryan and Luke and I spent the day watching a sheep-herding competition, a tractor pull, goat chariot races, cornmeal making, goats being milked, etc. I learned a lot. :) When we were finally goat-ed out, we went to Luke and Myla's, where we watched our Tigers get slaughtered while playing Scattergories. (I'm sorry I didn't make it to the party, Lawson, but Ryan was driving and I was at his mercy.)

I have a new ring. It is a plain narrow silver band with "HOPE" engraved on it. (The store had Faith, Hope, and Love, and I decided I am most deficient in Hope and thus needed that one most. :)) I really like it.

After church yesterday, a few of us talked to the associate pastor about our college/career group situation. Since they still haven't found a replacement for our former c/c minister, one of the elders has appointed himself to teach in the interim. The problem is, teaching is definitely not his strength. He spends most of Sunday School reading long passages from books aloud to us. He asks silly questions and gives us worksheets to do, and his topic is "Christian Living," which is about as vague as you can get. It's been a month or so, and everyone has stopped coming to Sunday School. I didn't even go this week, because I knew I would be the only one in the class, and I can't handle it by myself. Our old minister was such an amazing teacher who really dug deep into Scripture, and the comparison is just painful. We're all feeling discouraged, and I'm concerned that the c/c group is going to fall apart. It's basically down to me, Ryan, and Matt, whereas last month it was about 30 people. I hate it that Evan is out of the church loop now because of work; everything would be better with him there. But I know he hates it too, so I try not to say those kinds of things to him.

This weekend I finally completed the downloads to make my CD of The Most Romantic Songs Ever. I did this so I will have something to listen to when I get in my mushy moods and Linkin Park just will not do. :)

That's all for now.

Halloween candy is already out. This means candy-corn pumpkins. I bought a huge bag of them at lunch and have already eaten more than I care to admit. I do this every single year. It is bad. In about 3 days, Pumpkin Shock will set in and I will be unable to have sugar for a month. :P

Time goes by, and I still do nothing to my journal style. I would like something with a sidebar, and then the "generator" style in the middle. I would also like a fun background. I have no idea how to do any of this and it would take me months to figure it out.

Rambling aside, I am posting again because I remembered a conversation we had at lunch yesterday: what we would do if we were as rich as Bill Gates. :) It makes me happy to think about what I would get for other people, not for me, if I had that much money. I think it's a good indicator of who's most important to you.

If I Had 90 Billion Dollars... )
Please think about this and share your lists! :)
