NUMBER 18, BABY!

When Kathy and I heard about it last night, we leapt up from the table, grabbed our pom-poms, danced around the apartment singing the fight song, and then calmly sat back down to finish our dinner. We think this is the first time the cat has wondered at our craziness, instead of the other way around. :)

In other local news, police busted a meth lab last night across the street from my high school. This is in addition to the illegal arsenal recently discovered behind my elementary school, and last week's disgruntled parent trying to run down the vice-principal of my middle school. I'm almost beginning to feel like I'm back in Miami. :P

Tonight I am actually going to tutor at Streets- they found a kid who wants to show up. Even though I've been "volunteering" there since September, I've only actually tutored twice. So I'm nervous. We'll see how it goes.

It's warm outside and the sun is out! Well, it was out.

When I went home at lunch, there were two huge dead roaches outside the back door. You can't imagine how good I felt about that. :P Spring certainly comes at a price in our apartment. Speaking of the apartment, we still don't have new neighbors, and it's been over a month since the annoying neighbor moved out. We figure there's just a lot of cleaning to be done- her apartment was disgustingly dirty- but it still seems weird.

Alli has invited me to Mardi Gras (verb tense :)) with her at Owen Brennan's tonight, so I may have an exciting evening. I have decided to give up candy and chocolate for Lent, because I need to stop eating it, and my flesh is weak. :P My mother and sister always give up all tasty drinks and drink only water during Lent, then give me a guilt trip because that's too difficult for me. And yes, we're all Protestant, so I'm not sure why we go through this.
