the grass is happy, and, I think, so am I
Mar. 5th, 2003 02:35 pmThe California trip is back on. A little McAlister's tea, soup in a breadbowl, and talks with several nice people always help to clear my head. :) Even with the money issue, I think I'd really regret it if I didn't go. So I am going to be adventurous.
Let's talk about happier things. Tutoring last night was wonderful. The girl who runs the program has paired me up with her favorite seventh-grader, Yolanda. I can see why she's the favorite. She's incredibly smart and sweet and funny. She likes to read and wants to be a poet. When I arrived, she had made a survey for me to fill out. One of the questions was, "Do you like to laugh?" Of course, I answered yes, and she gave me a 100. She said that was the only question that mattered. :) I can already see that she's going to be a great blessing to me. I hope I can be one to her, too. Thankfully, she needs help in English, which is my best subject. If she had needed math help, I think she would have ended up teaching me instead of the other way around. :)
After tutoring and watching American Idol, I headed over to Owen Brennan's to meet Alli. We saw some of our church friends there and ended up hanging out with them for a couple of hours. It was a lot of fun, but today my throat is hurting from trying to have a conversation over the jazz band.
I have fun new multicolored folders at work! Cortney ordered me a box of pink, gray, purple, aqua, and black. I was so excited to bring a project to my boss in a pink folder. I'm weird.
